COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

Vaxed, boosted and immediately given an anti-viral (not like he has to wait for admin people to sort out getting it posted to him either - he'll be taking that stuff ASAP which ought to help with effectiveness too.) he ought to be fine + has a doctor permanently on call to monitor.

I pulled some warehouse shifts in the 20 and 21 summers covering people off sick, etc. with a mask no problem - fortunately avoided it so far this year.

(Strangely enough they've managed to get the aircon working in one building, which for years was like talking to a brick wall trying to get it sorted, I've mentioned a couple of times before, when a higher up manager was scheduled to be working there for a few days in the recent heat...)

Interestingly I gave blood yesterday and no one was wearing masks other than a handful of the nurses which I thought was strange. Even then not all nurses were. The ventilation system was just standard A/C.
I've given blood and been to the dentist a couple of times in the last few weeks. Both had "please wear a mask" signs up but no staff wearing them. Other than the dentist themselves which has always been the case even before COVID iirc.

Why don't you wear one of those bulky filtered masks, that keep practically eveything out. That way you don't have to concern yourself with what other people are (or aren't) wearing. They cost about £30 and last for a month.

Or would that be too much of an inconvenience?

You are misunderstanding the conversation. It isnt about me.

Yes you have to feel sorry for dentist. The only group that really cant ask you to wear a mask.

My dentist and GPs demand mask wearing and over nose and mouth.

Still never understood why people wear masks on their chins. Apart from a waste of time, they look foolish

There are two places I have been told to take off my mask. The dentist so they can look and work in my mouth and at the hospital while sucking on gas.

Anyway people that complain about wearing masks are just being self centred even if it is just to make people think everything is okay, while people are again coughing without covering their mouths.

If people want to socialise with out masks thats fine but if you go to places that there might be people that dont socialise maskless because they need to stay safe for those around them then they should have the decency to wear masks.

Yeah anyone at my dentist, especially the dentist, who might be working over you always wore masks in the past.
