COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

Wetting the bed? That's impressive. Don't be so angry.

Take your own advice and ignore the thread, this has been a bit of an experience of your own making to be fair.
I don't mind people disagreeing with my stance (including your right to!). The world would be a boring place if it was an echo chamber.

Fine, but confusing an interest in the pandemic with bedwetting is not a strong argument it's a little unsophisticated.

Some frothers come in from time to time to just say bedwetters and they are just uninformed shallow rissoles with no sense of perspective :D

How about we introduce a new rule. Those still wetting the bed over covid stay at home. Leave the rest of us to get on with life and stop bothering us.
That's exactly what's happening in the real world, you're coming into a thread on a forum where you're well aware of the reaction you'll get for ****s and giggles.

What is happening in the real world?
To me it seems like most folk overwhelmingly want to go back to 'normal' with no BS restrictions or mandates and I'm all for it.
Your "new rule". Those happy to go out and about are and are free to do as they please, those that aren't happy can take whatever measures they fancy or just stay at home.

I've just had a completely normal wedding and we're now in Manchester and other than the odd person wearing a mask and the left over keep your distance signs everything is normal.

At this point I always say - "what under any circumstanes? Ebola? Nuclear Winter? Nastier Covid?"

You get the point, if I was as worried about that outcome as you I'd have an plan on how to make it bearable, just in case.

Just this Christmas gone there was many examples of people on this forum wanting us all locked down and away from our families. Doesn't take much for them to turn.

I don't want anymore lockdowns as it will affect my mental health even more. Besides, the economy can't cope with another one. Why lockdown the country where 99.9% of people get cold symptoms?

How many of these people wfh or furloughed in the lockdowns? Hmm

Have yet to have covid and will continue to wear a mask for as long as possible, thanks. Not even BA.5 could strike me down.

I also have yet to have Covid (as far as I know) but havent worn a mask at all for a number of months now, including several overseas flights, packed concerts, restaurants erc

Just saying.

that’s exactly what’s been happening for the last 18+ months. Maybe if you spent some time outside of your four walls you’d realise and stop whinging.

After 4 days starting to feel better again but I've lost my taste and smell!! Like completely. Really annoying and its getting me down a bit. Anyone had this and when did it return?
Likely 48 hours with omicron - comes back as quickly as it goes - very odd experience

I lost my taste and smell from what I can only presume was the Delta variant last year. It still hasn't returned properly, and the taste that has is spoilt. I cannot eat eggs anymore, nor drink Coca Cola, as both taste and smell like rotten meat. Very bizarre.

As mentioned above though, it's all very individual.
