COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

My dad had his 5th I think jab last week.

Covid seems to be doing the rounds in my area again, my nephew, his partner, both the kids went down with it again last week, then my sister and young niece went down with it yesterday.

I'm hoping i'll be able to get a second booster some time (preferably sooner rather than later).

Got my latest jabs yesterday morning, I have diabetes.

Covid-19 in the left arm and flu in the right arm.

Feeling pretty grotty today but that seems to be common for me as I've felt rough for a day or two after having my previous jabs.

Should just be able to book yourself on the NHS website, that’s what I did as frontline social care, got jabbed Monday.

Even though 'At Serious Risk' on the NHS Occupational Health test is 9 and I got 19 I'm not applicable :(

Seasonal booster

You can have a seasonal booster dose (autumn booster) of the COVID-19 vaccine if you are:

  • aged 65 or over No
  • pregnant No
  • aged 5 and over and at high risk due to a health condition No
  • aged 5 and over and at high risk because of a weakened immune system No
  • aged 5 and over and live with someone who has a weakened immune system No
  • aged 16 and over and a carer, either paid or unpaid No
  • living or working in a care home for older people No
  • a frontline health and social care worker No
Information:
Currently certain people are being prioritised for getting a seasonal booster. Others, including those aged 50 to 64 who are not at higher risk, will be able to get it later in the autumn 2022.

My mother had another jab today I think thats her 5th I'm losing count. Still waiting to be called for my 2nd booster
Just go on this website https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coron...rus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

Did this and got mine Friday.

I book my flu jab online as being under 50, but vulnerable- I get texts from my GP in November. Far too late. Booked mine on Boots in Aug for this week.

Had flu in Nov some years ago and it was awful.

Interestingly at Gatwick I'd say barely 1% of people were wearing a mask. In Germany it's still mandated (€150 fine) to wear a mask on public transport. That said they don't seem to be checking of it's FFP2 or not.
Spain - all public transport requires a mask. Even I went on a bus at 42c heat and couldn’t wait to get off the bus and remove the mask.

No requirement on planes.

Italy requires FFP2 masks. I can’t wear them

It has gone up a bit since schools etc went back... to be expected. Thankfully the same variant so in theory it shouldn't shoot up. Graph below..
