COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

I probably won't get both together - mainly because the Flu one floored me last year and if I get the Moderna one this time it'll be the strongest covid shot yet. Would rather not play with fire lol, Flu nearer Christmas for an overall immune boost will do nicely.

Exactly 3 months since I got rid of it, the IT chap from our office has messaged me to say he's tested positive, the day he sat at my desk for an hour sorting my PC out :(

Im really hoping I don't get it again, not that I particularly struggled with it but it messed my fitness and heart rate up for going on two months, I'm only really just fully over it.

Something going around at work but no one testing positive for COVID - got most of the staff over Friday/Saturday including myself :( it is very very mild though like a cold that forgot its supposed to be a cold but still annoying.

Flu jab is on tuesday, covid jab lord knows when tried the NHS site and said nope not eligible. Probably have to wait until its raging everywhere again.

Looks like the first cold to go around at work unless it is some variant of COVID which existing tests don't pick up on. So far no one is testing positive for COVID but everyone has it really mild as well so maybe not enough shedding for the test to detect - though seems to have gone around quickly enough with most people developing symptoms within a few hours of each other.

Wife's mum & dad have spent whole of pandemic covid free (that they know of) , they took short break to Whitby this week and both have covid and both due booster this week so that's that on hold for next month or so

Mum as asthma , dad has heart problems both fell pretty ruff just sleeping a lot but on the mend .

That's what I had twice and it was Covid.
I have my 2nd booster tomorrow at the hospital.

No one testing positive for COVID yet. I'd almost forgotten how much colds suck, even mild ones like this. Shame we won't go back to masks, distancing and a sanitisation routine at work for the winter season - it almost certainly was stopping this stuff going around before.

PCR tests?

We've done antigen tests at work - not sure if anyone has done PCR. Everyone has it really mild so possible if it was COVID it doesn't show on an antigen test. The symptoms aren't really typical of the common variants of COVID currently going around though.

I been postive for 11 days now, I got a really bad sore thoat at moment and still feeling really tired & ill :(
Can't wait to rid of this virus

I started back at work yesterday morning..

That sounds like what I had, I have got past the sore throat, it was bad, using hot lemon drinks. I am going to test again today but I still have a nap late afternoon when tired. Luckily I am retired.

Back to mask wearing in shops I'm afraid.

We definitely will go back to masks if it rises, we only took them off a month ago in Admin areas but all Clinical areas still wearing them.
