COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

My workmates wife who also works at the hospital has got no immune system and ended up in a Covid ward.
Her bosses aggressively texted her to see why she wasn't in but her replies weren't believed so she got the Ward Matron to take a picture of her in a bed with a ventilator and then the Matron rang her boss.
My Boss just txt me this 5 minutes ago to say to stay home till Monday :)

After my covid spell I have been left with a troublesome cough as I have some mucus lined in my throat that I just cannot get rid and it is making life a misery at work and home. Hoping it goes away soon as it has been a week now.

Secondary infection go see the doc and get some antibiotics if it doesn't clear up soon, been there done that it can be worse than the original infection if not treated

When I had my 1st booster in Nov, I was fine the day after. Following day, felt pins and needles where jab was done. Two days after that, I had a pain which kept going up and down entire arm and had little movement in left hand. That lasted 2 days and had those days off sick at work. As need both hands to work on checkouts, put out delivery etc.

Hoping today's 2nd booster will not come to that.

WFH is not always an option for people, do you expect people to stay off work unpaid for a 'Cold'
I remember a colleague having a cold (tested negative on LFT) and customers complained about her being in. This colleague was on a first written warning at the time. If she rang in sick, she would face disciplinary action and got a final written warning. Her first written warning expired 2 months later.

Think about it - if she rang in sick then, today, she would been halfway through a final written warning.

People are scared getting disciplinary action and losing their job over a cold

I only ring in sick with a cold if I am a sneezing, blowing nose or coughing machine gun.

Still at least the government have your back now :D

I am feeling extremely tired after flu vaccine on Thursday and 2nd Covid booster yesterday. Glad I had both in the same arm.

Who recommended to people to have both flu and Covid together? I would not recommend both together if you are very elderly.

Am still testing positive and feeling like crap after 8 days now..:(

Yes, I did not realise just how debilitating it is. Probably six days now and the sore throat has gone but the cough is still with me. The sense if smell is absent however I managed to taste one of my home made chilli con carne last night.
The worst part at the moment is the pressure on my chest, it feels just like the bronchitis that I used to have as a teen. Tested positive this morning, will try again on Monday. I feel so tired.
