COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

People really still getting covid jabs??? Tin foil hat brigade is strong in here
If you have a weakend immune system then jabs are really important. The NHS tell you if you fall in that category and offer you both COVID and flu jabs.

If you don't get a message from the NHS then you don't need one and can continue to ignore COVID jabs all you want.

I was in the group that got offered an nhs covid jab in around late 2022 iirc, the mass vaccination had stopped and only certain people got it, I got it for an illness I have long term Then in 2023 they decided I no longer qualified for the free nhs jab, I had 3 illnesses that year, 1 was deffo covid, didn't test the others.

This year as soon as private jabs were available I had 1 at boots for £100 in april. Just had another as about 6 months had passed, again £100. 3 days after my jab the other day I receive an email from the nhs inviting me to get a free covid jab, so I assume now I qualify again. Spent £100 when I didn't have to. Great communication nhs.

Our lass has just cleared Covid for the 3rd time, she’s immunosuppressed and I have to say paxlovid is a god send, for the 3rd time we went from coughing her guts up and feeling like **** to symptomless in 36 hours, and for the first time, I didn’t pick it up from her either (touches wood) while she was positive.

I think me and my little girl have it at the minute, all last week started with a soar throat then blocked nose and fatigue. This week it's coming out of both ends, aching and more fatigue.

Great to read that no one is worrying about Bill Gates infecting us with microchips via vaccines anymore. There were some right fruit loops about a couple of years ago who have clearly moved onto some other wacko conspiracy theory.

On a more practical note, I wasn’t aware that the vaccine was offered to asthmatics so I should investigate. Haven’t had any vaccine since the last booster

It depends on the severity and how well controlled you've got it, it's not just blanket offered AFAIK.

I think people that thought it had something to do with 5G were all a little nuts. I think for most people that have immunocompromised bodies, or long term illnesses it seems to (at least from what has been revealed over the years) be a sensible thing to take the jab. As well as the flu jab. Personally, I don't take either as I'm fortunate to be unaffected by these things for now - but should my situation change I would be less cautious or worried about side effects if it had a more immediate benefit to my health.

Just checked, my last injection of anything was way back in july 2021! How time flies! Has it really been 3 years?!

Hope those of you that are still struggling with your health are doing ok and keeping healthy. :) Especially with winter coming up.

This thread is a good reminder to me that covid is still an issue for a few, it's easy to forget when it's not in the news or doesn't affect you or anyone you know.

Seems to have gone dead on the COVID front here now people are done with their summer holidays. Hoping we don't see a resurrection around Christmas.
