How long did people wait to return to exercising after Covid, guess this is a case by case basis I suppose..
Desperate to get to the gym but on day 14 since testing positive and still feel a little peculiar, All symptoms have gone & I can almost smell and taste again but just feel a bit weird today, hard to describe it. Chest / breathing is relatively normal though.
*Sigh, guess I've answered my own question and another day or so on the bloody sofa all evening for safe measure.
I went back to cycling within a couple of days in late March '20, but then intially my symptoms were almost the other end of the scale to my partner who began a continuous cough and breathing difficulties a few days before me (she recovered after ~6 weeks and had a very typical "normal" summer, but then had a relapse in Nov '20 and she has now been signed off sick with Long Covid since Dec '20 from her NHS role). Initially I had just one day of the worst headache I can ever remember than painkillers wouldn't touch.
However, my eagerness to return to threshold+ training and chasing my times up local hills completely backfired, typical recovery periods of <2 days between hard sessions needed at least four days between them. I also had daily moving patches for weeks which felt like badly bruised ribs moving side to side, front to back, believed to be lung issues. Not to mention crippling fatigue after work shifts that unusually forced me to nap almost as soon as I came through the door. After a couple of weeks or so I came to my senses and spent ~5 weeks taking things very easy and then gradually introducing threshold+ intervals.
Listen to your body and gradually return intensity is my advice.
