Cpu Upgrade

You misunderstand. Nothing to do with the motherboard.

Some GTX 1070 come with a single 8-pin power connector. Others come with two connectors.

Your power supply only has one 8-pin (6+2) cable.

So you need to check which GTX 1070 model it is and how many connectors it has.
Sorry another question you say the 1070 may come with a 8 pin connector does that go into the card Itself (stupid question)

Nah not stupid. Pics will help cement the idea.

This is a Gigabyte G1 1070 with an 8-pin connector:

And this is an MSI Gaming X 1070 with 8-pin and a 6-pin connectors:

This is how the cables from the power supply connect to those:

Now take a look at the info for your power supply and you will see it has just one PCIe 8 (6+2) pin for a graphics card. e.g. Enough for a card like the G1 (and in fact for most 1070 models), not enough for some cards like the Gaming X.

ok so how come i don't have them on my gtx 1050 ti ?

The 1050Ti is a lower-powered card and can draw it through the PCI-E slot on the motherboard without the need for any additional power cables.

thank you for that reply that makes sense now, and now I do remember seeing yellow wires not connected near my psu unit in the case

You have to upload a photo to an image site first you cant post directly , or just gives us some info and we can Google it.

2 lots of 8 pin connectors do you mean ?

Yes buddy 2x 8
Opened up my unit now and it seems i have a power lead possibly with 2x 6 and 2x 2

Plug both 6+2 pins in and you're good to go.
Your aerocool integrator 500w is actually a 450w power supply. Whilst not terrible...isn't the best either, but it'll do the job. The 1070 only uses about 160w and the cpu will use up to 120w, so it'll be safe
Can you tell me what psu would be good pls that i can get.
Many thanks

I avoided Aerocool, Gamemax and Kolink when choosing my new PSU, ended up with an EVGA 750W Bronze BQ with a 5 year warranty, only £ 70 inc VAT.

Needed a new PSU as my old Antec Basiq 550W only had two PCIe power connectors and some graphics cards need three now which my new one has.
