England I think play Ireland in the first game of the super 8's that is if they get through of course.

England need 178 from 43 overs to do so.

It's all to play for still. Really hope AB and Smith can at least get another 50 in the partnership ... actually I lie, hope they don't go out, but im a realist :p

Yeh Englands first super 8 game will be Ireland in about a week i think.

was a good performance today was a measured bowling attacking and Joyce and pietersen worked very well for there partnership.

the only real question mark for me is still over bell, he's a great player but he needs to get in and stay in for once as he seems to be having a problem with this at the moment.

That is totally unbelievable to see ireland up there with the best sides in the world! Come on lads lets hit the semi finals!
 
Next match is the Aussies vs the WI, should be a good match with the WI having home support. Sadly i dont think the WI are a match for the firepower that the Aussies have, especially after the SA game the other day. But at the moment the Aussie bowling attack looks decidedly average if anything.

Looking forward to the game though, should be an entertaining one if anything.

Stil cant believe the lucky Irish got to the super 8's but i cant see them winning a game tbh, they will be totally out-classed if anything but then with their lucky streak they may cause an upset or 2...My money is in the Aussies, SA, NZ and Sri Lanka being in the semi-finals if anything.
 
Well Haydens got his century and he's going well, Aus are 218-4 with over 10 overs left. Looks like 300+ is becoming standard for this Australian team.
 
Haydens had a cracking knock here now up to 152, he hit 2 huge sixes and a four in a row last over now 2 fours and a six in this over.

Tbh I thought he was past it on the Ashes tour last year but he's looking lethal in this tourny!
 
Australia beat the WI comfortably in the end, so they now lead the super 8s table with 4 points.

SA are chasing 210 to win against Sri Lanka.
 
SA win by 1 wicket :eek: Completely missed the SA run chase but tbh I thought they would get there quite easily, just waiting for the highlights now. 4 wickets in 4 balls has to be a world cup record, sounds like it was one hell of a game though.
 
Incredible stuff by Malinga at the end there, 206-5 with like 31 balls to get 4 runs to 207-9 within almost 2 overs :eek:
