I thought 500 would have been more acceptable. I have been on the forum for a good few years now and still havent read 1000 posts i dont believe. However, i do read the forum a lot and have made a few purchases :)

So I am a scammer because I am new here with a few posts and want to access the MM then?

The MM is a privilege not a right IMO. Not everyone can be pleased, but hopefully this will help stop people getting ripped off. That is a lot worse than "oh no, I don't have MM access"!

I fully support this.

Just because some of us lurk and some post we who have been here many years are being penalised... :(

If you can't access it now then that is presumably because you didn't configure your Trust account prior to the recent changes, if you did configure it prior to the changes then you'd have had months if not years of access going on your average posts per day.

If it was something that was important to you then I don't think it's entirely unfair to assume you'd have taken action once you met the qualifying criteria.

No and that's not the reason behind the change. It's to stop people signing up just for the MM and spamming their way in - that won't be everyone or even most but it does hopefully provide a deterrent to some. If however you want to be a member of the community then waiting an extra few months and posting a bit more shouldn't be a particularly onerous task.

People spamming to get access has obviously been a problem. I know it's easy for people to say this is good thing if you have access, but I've seen a few people ripped off over the years and to be honest it should reduces cases of scammers.

People shouldn't be posting to gain access to the MM, they should be posting to contribute to the OCUK community. It's a nice perk to have for sure.

I have a question, if my postcount drops dramatically will my access be revoked?
A large proportion of my posts are in the customer service section which I believe is cleaned up periodically, so I'd hate to have a few hundred posts disappear overnight along with my MM access :p

No mate, access will not be removed.

Basically as soon as you reach the criteria your user-group changes to allow MM access. The only way it would be lost now, is if you lose it yourself due to constantly breaking the rules.
