Criteria for MM access has changed.

Saw this and thought my access was about to be revoked, glad it's not affecting members who currently have access :)
Good move IMO though.

But by not doing that couldn't it mean that the very people who have raised the concerns enough for the change to be implemented are still going to be there to trade, unless they have been dealt with separately and had their access removed...?

Not sure what the recent issues were though but good news that the admin are on top of it :)

Considering you average 0.08 posts per day I don't think you are too bothered by it.

Considering I use a speech to text program to post in forums these days which takes forever cause speech to text in forum based software is still horrible. My hands are all but unusable for a keyboard these days, might have something to do with very little posts, struggling with Rheumatoid Arthritis is not fun. :)

I usually just read this forum for hints and tips, a forum post this short takes me about 15 to 20 minutes to prepare since speech to text royally screws up words due to my Scottish accent. :(

Never myself had any bad experiences, far from it, MM has allways been useful, fast and safe for me. Anything to increase the safety of the MM is nice though, hopefully it will continue to be usefull for many people. :)

I feel this is a good move and shall make the place more secure. :)
Indeed.

Its a real shame that people abuse the system, im always extremely wary buying anything, fortunately when you have a good trust then it is just that (bought some headphones and didnt have to pay full whack up front based on trust).

It's a good way of building trust, and only fair. I did it when I was starting out in the MM, and if I buy from new members I always ask if I can pay a deposit (usually half) then the balance on receipt. It's a fair ask in my opinion, and I was happy to do the same. If the seller has nothing to hide, why wouldn't they (based on my/other people's good trust)?

Plenty of positive comments guys. A big Thank you from the MM team for your support. :)
You guys make it a good place to use for nothing, so no need to thank us.

Wow, glad I got in under the old rules, I've been here since 2007 and still haven't hit 1000 posts!
Probably not a bad thing though (easy for me to say!) as it guarantees a certain level of loyalty before you can flog stuff to the community.

Pretty sensible, anyone who disagrees has to think about the poor guys who have been ripped off in there, anything that can help with that is a good thing.

On another note, I have wondered why there is not a rule that a photo of each item has to be provided with a hand written note along side the item with your user name and date written on it? That seems to work very well on another forum.

Just athought :)

I fully agree with this change, even though I don't post that much it is nice to know that those trying to make a quick buck from the other long term and 'proper' members of OCUK are being protected.

IMO use an auction site if you want to just sell stuff, not a community driven site. :)

A good move and one that I support having seen some of the recent events. Shame for the few looking forwards to getting access soon, but better for buyers now once access has been granted.

That still doesn't stop people sending of the money and then not receiving the item. If its a member with a low TRUST count, get them post first or do a 50/50 payment etc.

Anything that adds to the security of M&M is fine by me although I've never had an issue with any of my deals.
I wouldn't like to think people are being scammed in our M&M that would really boil my ****.

Just a note, but you can get large keyed keyboards a company called Chester Creek makes them. (They also do braille ones etc.) Might help!

It is a good move Thundycat. Its a shame it is needed, but at least it protects the existing members.
