Crucial Anniversary: The results

glad you're happy, i've decided to go for the NZXT ZERO myself along with the Sythe Kama Meter, just waiting for OCUK to confirm it will fit ok. :D

Took me some time, first build on my own but once built was a breeze getting to 3.2ghz 9x356 very impressed so far, super pi 1 million in 16s, cinebench 22s, still plenty to go not missed a beat so far

I'm upto 3.33ghz (370x9) 3-3-3-12 (2.15v)will try some cas 4 when i get a chance to, still new to this ddr2 malarchy passed 2 hours of orthos before i had to stop it:)

i guess this shows that 1T makes a difference in benchmarks, but how does it fare in the real world :p

in the real world 1t v 2t means bugger all

these dimms are pretty special, ppl say they're no better than the HZ's/Team Group etc but i disagree, they takes less volts and push further than regular D9GMH... i've had mine at 440 4-4-3-9 running orthos with only 2.025volts on the 680i board.

Is that special? I've got some Patriot stuff that I bought about a year ago when I was one of the few non-AMD folks on these forums. It's supposedly rated at 667/5-5-5-15 but I'm running it at 450 with 4-4-4-9 on 2.0V. I have it set to 4-4-4-8 in the BIOS, but it reads 4-4-4-9 in CPUz. I thought that pretty decent, but I never thought a whole lot more about it. I do buy a lot of stuff and I tend keep the bits that impress me, but then you live with something for a while and I guess you forget how good some stuff is.

I'm quite pleased about that then :D And I'm delighted that your RAM is special too!

i guess you get variable batches with regular D9 sticks, i think the crucial anniversary are hand picked so any set you buy should amongst the best, at a nice price too.

your patriots are doing very well mate :) do they stretch out to 550-600 with some more volts???

Yes, they look like good value, but if they are genuinely rated at PC8000+, why call them PC5300? It seems odd.

I think a lot of the early DDR2 sticks are capable of very high speeds. They will go to about 520 with 2.2V but the timings go to hell in a basket at that - something like 5-6-6-24 or something.

Currently running 365x9 3-3-3-9 2.1v on ram 1.208v cpu. load temps around 45 degrees on dual ortho, very pleased so far and a lot left to go :D

Kinda dumb really considering they bought all the stock at a set price, its just greed with no consideration to the customer. The worse thing is me speaking hypocritical it wont make any difference because people like me will still buy it anyway. lol

Good you're not running a business :) It would not last.

but balancing the books and offering value for money can be done without such price hikes, they were hardly selling it at a loss to start with were they!

I think a lot of stuff is at an artificially high pre-christmas price at the moment. If you add in where the dollar is at the moment stuff should be very cheap. After Christmas, they can have a sale where all the stuff has been at a higher price for the previous 28 days. If you don't need to buy now, wait.

Its not that it just bores me that they say they pass on the prices to customer then up prices because they are the only seller of an actual item which of course is a monopoly, yeah sure it makes good business sense but saying one thing & doing another with a different item is really sad indeed. I like many have been a good customer of OcUK over the years, it just feels I'm been ripped off sometimes, I'll be buying this product regardless anyway as price isnt an issue for me, but feels like I'm dealing with Ferengi's.

lol - just rub their ears a few times, you never know you might get a discount!!!! :D

@ Nelly, if you're going to buy it anyway , then all you're doing is justifying what they have done. Pesonally , i've decided to get my memory else where, and spend a lot more money than i was going too.

I gave up trying to work out the best memory to get from OcUK, and every time I did decide the price changed. and like you money is not the issue, however for me the principle is , so now i'm going to buy Team PC6400 CAS 3-3-3-8 , gave up looking for a good deal and now just simply going to buy the best there is else where.

Happy Christmas Me :p

think this stuff can do 2-2-2-8 latency at around 500mhz? as interest for the EXTREMELY latency dependant athlon 64 family, would be 939 performance on higher clocking AM2 platform :) more Mhz isn't better for K8, tighter timings do more to be honest
