Well I think I have broken it now!

It booted from cd. Flashed a dos screen for like 2 seconds. Now looking at a blank black screen.

No HD activity or DVD rw activity.

Never got the option to press anything or read anything. Was way to quick.

Shouldnt take long, just restart your pc and set it back to ahci in the bios then it should be ok.

Done everything up until finding drives.

When you flash it you have to change it from achi then once done you change it back to achi.

I think I see the problem.

In my asus bios. Under sata mode. The only sata device is the DVD drive.

So as my SSD is plugged into a sata 6 port. I am guessing I need to plug it into a sata 2 port?

My SSD is plugged into the blue port. The sata6 speed ones.

Under Sata Configuration in your bios is it set to IDE Mode?

If your cd-rom is set to first boot device and you have it set to ide mode and you burnt the iso correctly then i'm stumped if its not working.

Done it, somehow missed in the guide. That you need to use sata ports 1 -4

So followed guide and running latest FW.

Only thing that is disappointing is before speeds and after speeds.

It'll be a bit of both. The Marvell controller, from what I've heard, is complete and utter cack

. Being nearly full will slow it down slightly too, but probably not as much as the marvell controller. Still, 320mb/s is still fast. You can always use this drive when you upgrade too

Well for what I paid for it £85 posted, more than happy.

It is fast enough for me, and cold boot to desktop with everything loaded. For example mail and MSN is 36 seconds.

So more than happy.

I wouldn't class 69% as "full" at all. It's because of the Marvell controller.
