The Crucial M4's use the Marvell 9174 flash controllers not sandforce.
You need to plug your sata drive into one the Gray 6.0 Gb/s sata portshttp://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-448-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1906
My SSD is plugged into the blue port. The sata6 speed ones.

I'm still only getting around 490MB/s read with most benchmark tests that I carry out. I even did another full clean install yesterday just incase it may of been a driver issue but even after re-installing windows and running CrystalDiskMark with the default Windows AHCI drivers it still shows that my drive never hits over 495MB/s
I've currently got the latest Intel INF driver installed and the latest Intel RST driver too and my results still come out the same. I wonder what has happened since the first day when I was getting 512MB/s as you can see in my earlier post? I'm out of ideas now and the drive is still only 33% full but surely this would not have an affect of speed would it? Lastly the SSD drive is currently hooked up to the Intel SATA3 port 1 connector.
Thanks all - Liam
All SSD will slow down a little after use. Stop running the benchmarks as they will slow down the drive even more if you run them too much. Just leave it and let TRIM kick in or the GC and then it should go back to about 500mb/s.
Does you system seem slow if so then you may have a problem. Mine is still fast after a month and so I don't worry about the benchmarks, just be glad you can afford a SSD like this one and have intel SATA3 ports.
I was all up for buying a corsair force 3, cos they're fast. then i saw this thread......Now I have an M4 due for delivery on Monday. Speed and better reliability than SF? yes please.
