CryEngine 3 PC footage

Wait, what?

Crysis 1 never came out for consoles, yet the sequel will be...This is gonna make a lot of confused console gamers methinks :l I know Crysis did not have a massively complex story but still, I am sure the events of the original will be relevant to the story of its sequel :/

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the campaign would be through the eyes of another member of the squad.

However, I could be making this up, as I haven't played warhead or read all of this thread yet...:o:)

Seeing as Crysis is on consoles, and a city is far easier to render than dense jungle, it seems to make a lot of sense.

That combined with the game's code being made to run on relatively weak platforms means it could run really well on PCs. Warhead runs smoother compared to the original after all, and I would think Crysis 2 would see a bigger leap seeing as the engine has been designed with lower specifications in mind.

It can't just be NYC - I'm fairly sure the deciduous forest tech demo plays a role in the final game somehow... if the engine can do an amazing job of that, it's surely got to make an appearance in some form.

Don't count that out yet, so guys what do you think the spec will be?

Intel i7
Geforce GTX295 or ATI 5*** series
2-4 GB ram

I can almost assure you it'd be even lower than the original Crysis. How do you think they get it to run on PS3 and Xbox 360?

Far Cry 1 & 2, and Crysis & crysis Warhead all did the outdoor environment.
Lots of shooters have done futuristic science base interrors.

The only shooter I've played that did anything like a city was FEAR, and that was very limited graphically (it looked good, but it was the same environment over and over).

So I'm keen to see what crysis 2 does with NYC. I hope it has a range of urban and rural environments.

Well i cant wait for it to release honestly the way i see it they made the engine so it would work on all consoles + pc whats to say it wont take the full power of the pc into account and make the game look insane?

Seems like this one will be more expensive now because of the console versions :(
Had a look around and it is currently £26.99 on a few places with RRP set as £39.99

Complex dense vegetation replaced with tall simple structures? Maybe it'll run faster! :)

why does grass hammer fps ?

in a lot of games when you get to grass it mullers the old fps counter weird.

any recent footage of this game. could always pop into there office and ask :)
