CryEngine 3 PC footage

only reason i said about the screenshots is you know everytime the magical screenshots of the game appear they been touched up. like any magazine cover with any beauty on the front.

ive not seen one game ever that looks as good as its promo screenshots ever!

it will be good and look probably stunning but you know for sure the have done a little magic with 99percent of screenshots.

....after i've been to Crytek and had a demo of their very new engine.
There is some serious advancement going on that i cannot mention right now. ;)
 
Lol, can't really. Not sure how confidential it will be and as yet i don't know the full details until our visit, but the statement we were given was quite an exciting 'claim' as regards its power and potential.
Seeing as Crytek are also based in Nottingham, i'd better withhold until any more info in case YOU work for them :D
Looking forward to it though. :)

Thankyou. I was getting worried everyone had forgotten how good the game was. Yes it had to be played on Delta but if you could play it 'as intended', i.e 1920*1200, 2xAA, max settings, it looked amazing.

Sometimes you'd 'just' have enough cloak to get from rock to the next without being spotted, very intense stuff. Both games had lots of set pieces with that 'oh yeah im going **** these people up' moments but how you went about it was totally up to you. Personally id steath the entire way into a compound, plant some explosives, get to high ground & let hell break loose.

...yes the aliens sucked, A.I did have it moments.


Currently playing Stalker Clear Sky which ranges from amazing to brutally hard.
 
Crysis was phenomenal! Story was there. It was fairly unique too and I played Delta straight away too, with enemies speaking Korean and no crosshair. Still only took me 3 days even doing all secondary objectives. I like FarCry2's ability to just roam with no loading (except going in places). I wonder if Crysis 2 could do the same? Even with the massive maps of Crysis it was still follow the way points! Warhead was better optimised and runs at about 60fps maxed on this machine now! Still, that's with an ok system a year on. I still say it was ahead of it's time

And yes, I know consoles drive pc game building but that doesn't mean I should give a ****. I could get decent graphics from an XBOX360 now or a PS3 but the ******* slow down just as much as a £300 PC would, so given I like games running above 60FPS all the time, I will stick with my overpriced pc!

I refuse to bow down to MS or Sony or some 10 year old American shouting down the mic... oh wait, I play CSS too lol... *sigh*

This new engine looks awesome but again, only a few, lucky people will get to experience all the eye candy!

whole point of the new engine was to not nessecarily to improve the visuals, but to make it more optimised, and so it would be able to run on the consoles.

still, looks stunning tbh.
