Crying at films

Forrest Gump, especially when he sits by his mothers grave. You are not human if you didn't feel emotional watching that.

Ok im going to get shot down for this but here goes..

Have any one noticed as you get older you sniffle at films you never would have say 5 years ago. Cant even remember crying at a film ever but last night a watched a film I Am Sam and shed a tear....old age? turning into big girls blouse? or time for meds any one else getting soft? ;):p
I can't remember the last time I actually cried but I did get a bit teary eyed the last time I watched Naked Lunch.

I dont think ive ever all out cried at a film/tv series but if ive really got into a film/tv series and been absorbed in it emotionally then it certainly gives me a lump in my throat and the onset of a manly tear. Tbh i think its the mark of a great piece of film if it effects you emotionally and imo it adds all that more to making a story that much better.

Take Forrest Gump, LOTR and Titanic as some of the more well known examples, those films were all about the characters and effecting you emotionally. If you didn't feel anything watching those films then tbh you've missed out on the full and proper experience of those films tbh. Each to their own though.

Sod the alpha male persona lol. We aren't cavemen anymore.

Gladiator, at the end when he drops dead.
Armagedon, again at the end.

Both come under the tears of pride banner, no shame to be had realy.

edit for the above... i was trying not to at the end of avatar, thankfully it was made easy with the sit down dancing rub under the tree, turned off the tap:)

FOTR when boromir is holding off the uruk hai and its going all slo mo. that and afew times in lost when a main charater is killed off. gets me all emotional!

also! at the end of dr horribles sing along blog caught me off guard i thought it was going to be all cheery at the end!:(

Watership down too :(

I heartily agree with the above.

Add to that Pan's Labyrinth - I was in tears at the end.
Spock dying in Wrath of Khan too.
Meet Joe Black.

To me the mark of a good film has a lot to do with how it affects me emotionally.

I don't remember crying at a movie, but my god ER when Carter and Lucy got shot and then Lucy died had me blubbing. Also when Denny died at the end of series 2 of Grey's anatomy and Izzy is clinging to him :(

Was watching Leon on boxing day, wouldn't have been too bad but the wife was blubbing like anything, which almost set my mother off, so as a knock on effect I welled a little :p
