Crysis experimentings

i might ask for the link later, but im quite happy with the config.

no luck findng a fix for the rocks though, although ive heard the problem is caused by exceeding the VRAM limit
 
That's odd mate, I've never experienced any of these problems. I'll upload another config to try if you want?

EDIT: are you using the foliage mod, or have you taken that off?
 
well, i deleted the file that i had to copy into the game folder. if that had anything to do with the dissapearing wheels i dont know.

any config that gives better framerate than very high with minimal graphics loss (or even graphics gain) would be great

its the first time i've looked, but it seems this is happening to a lot of people with version 1.2

apparently its because im using a savegame from before i updated. will try starting a new game because im only 1/2 an hour into it (only just seen the jeep for the first time. at frst i thought i blew the back wheels off with a petrol can i threw at the jeep and shot, but it wasnt that)

I've picked up the habit of adding an 'ings' onto lots of words.

eg: "Are we going to the match"
"yes we are, I have the ticketings right here!"

just running the config you gave me. it never dips below 30FPS, but with vsync on i couldnt tell you what it stays at exactly

i plan on going through the game more than once* so i will try out the mods/texture packs/whatever on my second go through

*once on normal difficulty, once on maximum difficulty

has anyone made an 'absolute maximum' config, or is that just very high with full AA?

That config I gave you is supposed to be better looking than very high. Most very high configs out there take the detail a little higher than very high with better frames. There's one called CCC config which has different 'levels', on level 6 (the highest) I get around 25-30fps.

There's not really such thing as a maximum config config, because some of the variables are 'unlimited'. eg: I was playing with a gtx 480 and an i7, I set the shadow texture size to 8192, and my fps was around 3-4, with a max of 8.

Damn those shadows looked good though.
 
ah fair enough. didnt realise some things were unlimited.

now i am further through the game i can tell you i am getting a bit worse FPS but its still way better than it was in the demo
 
I'm going to be trying Crysis out with a whole load of new tods now. Real Lifesis is certainly the best for playing the game in my opinion, but I'm looking to get some new awesome screenshots, without Real Lifesis :D

does the config you gave me work on crysis warhead, because ive literally just installed it

is there a mod to get the woman from the original crysis as my suit voice. not really a fan of the guys voice, and the womans voice sounds like the queen is announcing my suit info

however, warhead seems to be running a lot nicer on very high (enthusiast) than normal crysis

Hiya mate, sorry missed your post! The config should work on warhead.

Here are the warhead patches:

patch one:

And I think that the option to change the voice should be in the settings menu.
 
sorry for the dumb question, but where is patch two, three and four, and do i need them?

also, am i right in assuming that the config will look better than everything on enthusiast, and perform better too?
 
none of these configs/mods work for warhead, asd im playing warhead now and it really doesnt look that amazing tbh, even maxed out with AA. Maybe ive been spoiled by metro.
