Can't be the CPU, I put it at stock and it still ran like ****, no worse no better.

xp was about 5fps more than vista, but when 5 fps is the difference beetween single and double digit framerates thats a lot

I think crysis looks great in high and low settings, certainly looks better than farcry by miles.
found some screen shots of high/low settings in the beta and you can certainly tell the difference between them, also low looks pretty good considering its meant for low end hardware.
Not sure whatgfx card shots were taken with by frame rate seems ok(ish)

I see your point on the comparison, the contrasts are more obvious(much) and you'd probably find people playing those settings could spot enemies more easily in multiplayer unless client settings are fixed by the server like I think I read somewhere
