To all those saying its crap, you havn't installed it and then gone in the game and set the settings to high have you?

You shouldn't change anything after you have installed it, just load the game and play. If you want to change settings just install it again at whatever level you like.

Lv5 settings on my ATi CF setup look amazing, and it is FAR better than High or V.High.

Post some screenshots please.

Did you just install the CFG and nothing else? I might try it again but aint using my main crysis installation it mucks it up if you ever want to uninstall it.
 
Lol @ the amount of configs, if there was an index of em on this forum it would proberbly about 100pages long :p

I'll give that one a go, so far the one I posted in the quotes in a post back on the 1st page (The biggest one) Is the best for me, give the best balance of looks and performance allowing me to run at 4xAA and still looking as good as the other cfg's.

Bizzare performance with these 4870's, I tried one config, and everywhere it was like 20-30fps, but by the sea it was like 50-70.
 
I've compared 5 different configs.

Msters Quality Cfg
Msters Performance Cfg
The one I use (Posted earlier)
HP's Ultra High Cfg
Extreme Quality V1.2

Should be able to judge which one is best for you out of these, the one I use imo is the best because it gives a good balance of graphics and playable with 4xaa.

From the looks of those HP's Ultra High is the best in terms of performance and looks and the one I currently use is the best performance.

The Core looks AMAZING, in game, the lighting etc is something else.
 
I did the entire game on Lv5 @ 1680x1050 no AA (apart from the walker fight on the Carrier as that bit is just so badly coded it was a slideshow), no idea on FPS as I didn't play through with the counter up, but it was smooth enough that it didn't annoy and didn't detract from the game.

Lv6 I did have the counter up as I was taking screenies in fraps, walking about fps was very good, talking 25-50fps+ no fuss, felt very smooth.

Lv6 big fights however you are talking almost slideshow, ~10fps very hard to play and not very fun.

All these cfg's look crap, unless its my ATi card, going to have to try some other ones.

They all seem to be made to produce very pretty screen shots but, don't actually look that great in motion :(

Not impressed with the screenies linked above though, I might try CCC again once I have backed my crysis installation up but its not very good in long distance, blury just how I had it.
 
Crysis will only start to look good when real anti-aliasing comes along. It's the excessive amounts of rough edges in the game that takes away from its overall look. Anti-aliasing all that will make the game look far better but it's too costly. I can only do 4xAA at 1280x1024 with my 4870 and it's still just 30fps.
