Can't see your message from the floor.

Ontopic: Real tempted to pre-order this and cancel QW  I don't have much money

Don't know what to do, probobly stick with QW and play Crysis and a rich friends house with his uber pc.
In the same pickle - can afford both - just not the time that they justify :(

Arrrghhh why did he have to have one of those cyber suits...

UT3 :p

Last rumour I heard was that UT3 was going to be nearer Xmas, so I imagine if that is the case and Crysis releases this early that most of the buzz around Crysis would have died down by the UT3 release date.

You give the HL2 example, HL2 still ended up being a far more popular game than Farcry, so I wouldn't count Bioshock and UT3 out yet.

Last I heard UT3 was coming in 2008 and the console versions where coming before it at the end of this year.

Nothings been confirmed by Epic. As far as I know the PC version will hit earlier if not the same time as the Xbox version, with the PS3 version next year. But as I said, it's a guessing game really. :)

Aparently UT2007 is slated for Sep 1st, Bioshock in mid August and now this news.

Should be a fun month. I really hope these games are 'complete' when they finally arrive ;)

*Awaits "omg Crysis DX10 = 1 FPS?!?!!" threads. :D

On a side note I won't be able to play it on too high detail I guess since I won't upgrading till Octoberish!

sure they don't ask because nobody knows for sure what it'll run like on an 8 series card, im curious as well cause it looks too good to be true
They don't. Not when they know they have the best hardware out, anyway. Anyone who has the best hardware out and seriously thinks they'll need to upgrade to run the latest game shouldn't be allowed near the computer they spent so much to buy :p

I don't think I've ever been this excited about a game! :o :D

Just a quick question before I pre-order.

When installing the game will there be a DX9/DX10 option? Also is it a Vista exclusive?

I wonder how my X1950XT will cope :(

No,its not vista exclusive.

I read that if you have vista and a dx10 gpu then you can change which mode you want to play in,dx9 or dx10.

OMG I CANT WAIT, this also decides what graphics card i get.

i hope the GTX will be able to handle it at a widescreen resolution because im wetting my pants waiting for this game!

More proof that CRYSIS is coming this September?

Prima is doing the strategy guide for CRYSIS. They have the release date for the guide listed as 9/9/2007. That is 2 days before the ship date of CRYSIS and 3 days before the retail outlets receive them. Game guides usually arrive in stores a few days before the game actually does, so this all lines up.

Have a look:

And this is even more interesting:

The CRYSIS E-Guide will be available to download 8/24/2007!

Now, when we went to E3 in 2004 - we spoke to some guys we know that work for BradyGames. I was super-mega-excited about MGS3 and I was trying to get our friend Jeff who works for BradyGames to let slip some guide details - like if there would be an artbook, etc. He told me that he wasn't allowed to say, but that the editors have to finish the game first before they can finalize the guide's content. He added that they would complete 100% of the game around mid-September.

?!? I was stunned. The game came out in November, and they would finish it in mid- September. That means they would have to get the finished game by August at the latest so they could make the guide and be certain they had the time to do everything the game allows. "They always do it like that" he told me. "Game companies always ship us an advanced copy of the game in either completed retail form or at least near complete, so we can pour over it and get our guides underway in time for the respective game's release date."

Advanced copies of games give the editors of each guide plenty of time to play through the game and find absolutely everything.

Now, if the E-Guide releases in late August - that means right now, or at least very soon, the editor of the CRYSIS Prima Guide will be playing a finished copy of CRYSIS! [Or at least a 95% complete version containing everything we are going to get in the retail version]

Lucky fellow
