Crysis to Launch on September 11 (USA), September 14 (EU)?

Jack Thompson has recently been ordered to undergo psychological evaluation because of his actions, so I don't think we will get any grief from him.

Lost his license for 91 days aswell. :D

Next step if for him to become the first man on Venus. :)

Isnt bad taste to release a violent computer game on the anniversary of 3000 people dying. I dont really go with the whole games can make you psycho argument but others genuinely believe it and you can bet it'll cause trouble

They could move it by one day surely unless its on purpose

I'm glad to hear its released this year anyway

Interesting:

Official Statement - An 8800GTX can max out Crysis including full AA.
Video - An 8800GTX played Crysis maxed @ 1920 x 1200 in its unoptimized state very smoothly indeed. The only slowdown occured when a building exploded and that was only for a couple of seconds.
Statement - A Crytek employee said his 7800GTX ran the game on "fairly high settings smoothly".
Statement - A Crytek employee said his X1900XT ran the game "with most settings on high smoothly".
Official Statement - anybody with a 6600/X600XT or better will be be able to run Crysis.
Video - a video showed a French reviewing team playing the game's deathmatch alpha on medium-high settings with a 7800GTX (still unoptimized).
Video - a Crysis flythrough run in real time on an 8800GTX shows the game running very smoothly on max settings, and judging by the crispness, I would say that had a good amount of AA on it as well.

Haven't seen that statement around though. ;o

Whoever wrote that must be a moron

ATi:

HD2900XT --> ATi's new flagship performs very, very close to an X1950XTX - WTF. in separate tests performed by a number of review sites.
I think with this card you could probably play Crysis on very high -> maxed out settings @ 1280 x 1024 no AA (good FPS).

There are still some R600s that will arrive, I don't know much about their specs so I will leave them out for now.

8800GTS ---> a great card if you are on a budget. In Crysis the 8800GTS is most likely going to be limited by its processing power not its VRAM. You should expect these settings regardless of whether you have the 320 or 640MB.
I think with this card you should expect maximum settings @ 1280 x 1024 no AA (good FPS), probably up to a resolution of 1680 x 1050 (acceptable -> good FPS).

Absoloute rubbish don't believe any of this. It's all speculation till we have the demo in our hands or Crytek annouce the specs

Is this just DX9-related statements/videos though? Important to make the distinction when related to the latest gen...

Any details how DX10 will run? Not too bothered as Im not moving to Vista just because of a game...

ps3ud0

That guy is talking poo. one min he's sayin a 8800GTX runs crysis (unoptimised) totally maxed everything @ 1920 the next he mentions the possibility a 8900GTX would possibly run it at 1600 maxed everything blah blah.

He's typed a hell of a lot of speculation whilst sitting in his strange dreamland and in all honesty, its all cr4p to be honest lol

Having just had a good read through this is the best bit:

With this monster you should expect to be able to max out Crysis @ 1280 x 1024 16xAA (good FPS), up to a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 (good -> very good FPS
