Crysis to Launch on September 11 (USA), September 14 (EU)?

I have an apparently good PC that can manage the supposed Ultra High settings, and I'm still saving up money just in case :p Crysis is going to have a meteorite crater impact on PC gaming when it comes out.

Just a quick heads up

I ordered from the new Argos catalogue so I hoping that I'll have mine well before other people get a chance to play.

I'm a good player and deserve to get mine before anyone else, and I spent loads of my pocket money last week there so they said they would do me a deal and give me mine first!!!

Think im gonna get a nice visual Crysis Upgrade

New Case
New 500GB Hard Drive
Vista

Hopefully my 6300, 8800GTS and 2GB should hold out @ 1440 x 900 on highish :)

Ouuupphhh this sexy beast looks like its shouts "I HAVE CRYSIS...PLAY MEEE!"

I will be upgrading for Crysis.. new case will give me a significant FPS boost!
Might get Vista too for even more upgrading, pushing my budget though.

[/Sarcasm]

Won't be upgrading until I know I will definitely be playing it because I never play any new games (because they are all carp!) so I would rather not waste 900squids on a new system.

I will 100% be buying Crysis now, cancelled my ET:QW preorder.

Having never bought a game online before. I gotta ask a daft question:

Do they send it so its delivered on the day its released? or you have to wait for the following day?

Crysis does look really good, but I hope it isn't another half life 2 - was bitterly disapointed with HL2, still think HL1 is a far better game in terms of story, AI, gameplay and value for money. Didn't get Episode 1 and won't be buying any further version.

When i brought san anderas off a online site, it came on the day it was launched when i preordered it. I dont think this will be a let down as it the first one in this type of series, i normal find sequels to be poor.

Ordering a 8800GTX and another 2GB of Corsair Value on Monday for £385 with delivery so I should hopefully be running this puppy maxed @1440x900.

I plan to go up to 4GB too as well as getting Vista which I really do not want as my OS but need it for DirectX 10 obviously. Don't get too excited about a single 8800GTX card. The single card will run it pretty damn well at high settings but dont get you hopes up for max settings. I have an 8800GTX at the moment and I have a feeling that to play Crysis maxed with a solid FPS at my res (1680 x 1050) I'm probably going to need a second 8800GTX. As my PSU is only 700W and I'm also running a quad core, I'm going to have to most likely upgrade my PSU too to run a second 8800 :(

All in all itll probably be about £550 for all those things for me

Considering that pretty much all footage shown so far at E3/CES and other game trade shows has been running on a C2D, 2Gb ram, 8800 series card, if you have similar you will be fine at "normal" resolutions ie 1280x1024 or 720p etc.

Higher will obviously need slightly more, anyone with quad core and sli 8800's will be blown away by blistering frame rates.

Hmm well apparently a 8800GTS can run it maxed out at some resolution, not sure what it isn't specificed.

See here: http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread.jspa?sls=2&tstart=0&threadID=242337

So I should think a GTX at my resolution should be fine. :)

Edit: Well apparently it's a 8800GTS for High, not Ultra High says a Crytek community manager, but I don't know perhaps the 8800GTX will manage Ultra High?

They won´t fit in the same sentence tbh :D Who will buy it if you need 2gb ram and a 8800 series card to run it maxed at 720p  not me

Everyone has gotten over that now, and many films, games and events have been rolled out on 9/11 in the years since 2001.

I really do hope the 9/11 figure turns out to be true.

Meh, I wasn't complaining. I couldn't care less but some people still go OTT particularly in the US. More ammo for the likes of Jack Thompson too; 'disrespecting Americas heroes' or some rubbish ;)
