It wasn't the demo, and why does it matter if it was? You can judge a game by the demo, no problem.
you can judge a 10+ hour sandbox game off a 30min demo? yeah ok, what exactly did you play then?

so you pirated it? or you didn't play more than the demo and are therefore making a stupid comment?
He could also have played the game on a mates PC, what's your point? He thinks it was crap and I am inclined to agree.
There was nothing revolutionary about Crysis short of the engine itself, everything else was textbook FPS no imagination and fairly generic gameplay.

Well it's a discussion of Crysis somewhat and the CEO of Crytek throwing toys out of the pram, I think it's fairly relevant to talk about their latest game. But then it begs the question to why you posted at all, just to tell the world you didn't buy it and you think its crap? You didn't read the OP then, as he didn't say "hey guys did you buy crysis and did you think it was crap?"... and you gave no real response to the topic of discussion he raised.
Best thing for concerned pc devs to do is either take the bioshock online activation route, uncrackable starforce level5 protection or steam.
I mean, most games only cost £20/30, not exactly expensive are they.
Gerard said:Dunno what he's whining about, id say if anything consoles are starting to get as bad as pc's with pirates. Does he think if they make console games nobody will pirate them or something? Just about every big 360 release has been pirated well ahead of release, its not exactly hard to get a console modded, only "hard" part is finding a place to dload the files. Once that problems solved though its dload central.
AWPC said:Even the witcher & stalker outsold crysis yet they were also heavily pirated. The difference is that they were more playable games which the pirates felt compelled to buy.
Dyson said:It both amazes and annoys me how certain people often talk about playing pirated games on these forums, but are still here. If I was to regularily swear i'd be banned, but it seems to be fine for a couple of people to almost brag about their piracy. I don't care if someone goes on to buy the game, they should just buy them anyway if they're interested in them.
Teki187 said:Why should i pay that much on a game thats crap? All the magazines are payed to give good reviews and people who say its crap get fired.
Unbiased reviews + good production = money.
why should you pay so much? was a great game, only cost £20 a fraction of your graphics card no doubt
thats some pay off to the magazines then, going by thats its on a 91% average on gamerankings, even edge gave it a 9 out of 10
I dont mind paying for computer games, just not when there given 90% or 9/10 from biased reviewers.
so going by that logic you avoid all the games that receive 90%+ like bioshock, orange box, call of duty 4 etc and buy games like blacksite area 51 and turning point:fall of man, thats right yeah?
The console market is much more lucrative than the PC market. That's why there'll be no more PC exclusives. I think that's what they're really trying to say
