Crytek has announced Homefront: The Revolution

Meh, looks like a bland yawnfest with shoddy framerates and shoddy gameplay.

I'm seeing terrible review scores on this, no surprise. I didn't play the first. Another one to bin off!

I also see it came out today and some people have suggested they have already run through the entire game!

i enjoyed the first game and hadn't heard about this, but that latest video, well, it looks rather pap.

Something doesn't look right with it, movement, the characters, it looks a little cheap and nasty and I hope I am wrong :(

Apart from the morons at IGN, it's looking like its a very average game, can't say I was surprised given that it was a pretty rocky road to getting this game made.

Well crytek looks to have let themselves down here :(. Heck crysis looked better and that was made 9 years ago .

Edit: looks like it's dambuster studios and this is their first game .

Crytek sold the rights to Deep Silver a while back. Dambuster Studios is the remnants of Free Radical. They went from TimeSplitters to Haze to this. :(

The SP open world shooter aspect doesn't really have me all that interested. (not a fan of the latest FC games) However that being said if I can persuade a few friends to pick this up, co-op might be fun for a few weekends.

Blimey, that's quite a shocking thing to think.

Yes, Crysis brought my system to its' knees 9 years ago, but it was a technological leap forward, and since then there's been no leaps.... mostly backwards steps, or slight advances.

Sad really, might re-install Crysis and have a blast through - It's old enough to be classed as retro gaming. :(

Cheers Twirly, will have a blast through the SP over the next couple of nights

Uninstalled. I feel cheated and I didn't even pay for it. Ropey plot, cookie cutter characters and it doesn't even play that well either. Some Dev's don't seem to realise that unless you get to 'play' your character pretty quickly you never really bond with them. The first 7 or 8 minutes is basically a cut scene. :(

I played the SP in the first game, even a bit of MP too (which was actually pretty decent) but this is awful.
