CS:GO Discussion

Well thats it, im in. just paid for my preorder.. £10.79, 1 week and 4 days untill i can play. our clan has already invested in a cs:go server too. exciting times.
 
I've been playing since Beta 5/6 (whenever the m4 had the scope I can't even remember now) and played CS a lot until 1.6, which is where I just got bored and stopped playing. 1.5 was the last version I actually enjoyed before 1.6/cz/source started to appear.

I am actually looking forward to playing CS:GO. I am going to approach this with a completely open mind. I actually don't mind something different from Counter-Strike as long the core gameplay is still there, and it doesn't become an entirely different CoD type game... I didn't like CS Source that much, never got into it, so I might not like this... Anyway, we'll see...

I want to get involved in something online, I used to play a lot of Wolf ET and had some fantastic times online :)

Not really played anything 'properly' online since.
I thought about GW2, but it seems from reading the thread on here that everyone's an expert and there's no room for 'noobs'.
Perhaps I'll give this a shot....?

I suppose it's only a tenner, so if it sucks/I suck at it, it wasn't a big investment.

hmm I think you find GW2 is the opposite , counter strike would fit that description though if you wanted to be good
 
Pre ordered this. Stopped playing around 1.3, tried get back into Source very late on but I was still burnt out and into an MMO. What happened to the good map rotations in source and good maps in general ???

Im feeling all nostalgic now.

I find D2 to be a 10 times better map than any of those you just mentioned, CS_ maps in general are horribly balanced. My favourites:

1: de_cbble
2: de_train
3: de_inferno
4: de_cpl_mill
5: de_nuke
