CS:GO Discussion

May be to do with your K/D or MVPs? You seem to be doing OK in the 2 games we played.

how does everyone manage on such low sens too?

i have 900dpi mouse, mid windows and 2.0 in csgo.

everywhere i read says 400dpi and 1-2 in csgo.

How big is your mousepad? As a rule of thumb you probably want it to be as low as possible whilst being able to turn 120 degrees from the centre of the pad to the outer edge. I think mine is 1.5 at 450 dpi and I have a 450mm wide mousepad. I used to go as low as 1.25 but I was frequently running out of room and getting shot by people lurking in corners etc.

Just takes practice mate, im currently at 450, windows 6/11 and 1.38 in game.

Used to have it really high, but since making the switch i've gotten a lot better, but it's really down to personal preference, whatever you are comfortable with.

Was he part of the Halloween patch?
No idea. He's just amazingly good. Heard he compares to JW with the AWP, and Get_Right when lurks (aka runs off mid alone with the bomb).

I'm at 1500 dpi and 1 sens. We are quite close in terms on sens*DPI, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I am considered to be on the high end of the scale, but there is no magical sensitivity. Play with whatever seems comfortable to you. You can maybe use 1.5 sens for a few days and see how you feel. Some people seem to aim better with ridiculously low sens*dpi, but then going round the map ma be a bit difficult.

my 7 silver wins were against high GN/AK players.

But didn't you loose a tonne of games before? so you would have needed a fair few wins to get you up to the rank up point (if it all works on points which we dont know)

You are at the ranked up point so another 3/4 wins in a row puts you up again

It's what normally happens with me when i drop or rank up between MGE and DMG

i can see how aim would be more accurate but it seems as if it would take the length of my desk to turn from a flash :S

thanks.

116 hours in now. i think this may be the game ive put the most hours into on PC. (only switched from console last year)

Well, in theory it should give you more control, and you need to move more to adjust your aim to a guy's head. Does anyone know the native DPI of the DA? 1500 dpi sounds and looks weird.

PC Master race. Switched a few months (bout 2 years) ago. Final straw was selling PS3 last January.

Hax confirmed!

Agreed.

Who would win in a game of 'normal' team vs team using xbox controllers but also wallhacks.

Agreed.

In my hey days of playing Quake 3, I had a heavily modified config file. Each weapon was customised for crosshair, sensitivity, zoom FOV etc etc.

Depending on how well you can adapt do a different mouse environment you may wish to use mouse accel. These days I avoid it and much prefer raw input, but some players can do well using accel. It allows you to be steady when shooting but also make evasive moves when needed. I personally moved away from using accel a few years ago, but many other players still prefer to use it.

At the moment I am using a DPI of about 400, a windows sens of about half the slider, and an in game sense of about 1.8 (ish). I think it is still a bit too fast for me, but it has helped me to react that bit faster due to not knowing maps (IE not covering the right angles when moving around them and not putting my crosshair where it needs to be). As I learn the maps I will probably lower my sense a bit as my spatial awareness will hopefully be a little more in tune.

I cant access a lot of the above posted info links at work :( In quake 3 there were universally accepted network settings (maxpackets, snaps, rate etc). Does CSGO also have such settings? If so what are they?

Depends on the quality of the xbox players. I used to play Halo, and some of the comp Halo players had epic pad skills. We tend to view mouse and keyboard as the definitive best option, but a skilled pad player can still cause some havok.

Good pad players + wallhack could win. But I still think a good mouse / keyboard team would have the edge in accuracy during confrontations.

Wall hackers easy. You can see where they are stacking or moving. If they are hiding, just moly them. Nades will always do 50 damage, as you can throw them on their feet. CT will be incredibly easy cause you know where they are going. Smokes will be OP, so will rotations.
