CS:GO Discussion

as a side not

zowie ec1 or rival i can use both easily but QCK+ all the way.

as for sense
Raw input
1600 dpi and 0.7 in game with standard windows settings.

I assume you're not referring to windows mouse accel? Anything with the word accel scares me.

Also...money doesn't make you a better player.

I...er...oh..my...

^^^^ if he didn't get it when I wrote DPI = deaths per investment, then your whoosh will probably also go whoosh too.

450dpi
6/11 windows
1.5 in game
Ec2 Evo on Qck+

I don't know what my mouse settings are.

windows - defaults
CSGO - defaults
Mouse - Logitech MX518
DPI - don't know, guess default too as I don't change it lol

Yes I got the DPI point :P

It was more the mouse accel, just making sure :)

I don't want people to think they have to spend loads on a mouse to be better, some people actually think that!

High dpi is less hassle I'd much prefer it but also less accurate I guess. Thing is does everyone use the same setting for desktop or change the dpi ? I can change the dpi but I never bother

Now I have 980 dpi and 1.1 sens with a sensai but its a setup I will have to change as its not 'right'
I was surprised olof just lets his cable drag on the desk in front of his pad, I used wireless for years as any resistance from the wire bothers me
Summit has 400 dpi and 1 sens but uses his arm to move the mouse. My setup is a bad habit I think because I use my wrist to flick it too much for like 45 degrees range in game. People deliberately rush up close on this basis that you cant adjust fast enough, its no good dying for setup reasons.
I don't know what my mouse settings are.

windows - defaults
CSGO - defaults
Mouse - Logitech MX518
DPI - don't know, guess default too as I don't change it lol
I think its definitely worth making an effort to examine settings here
I feel thats what at eagle level the players have got right and not held back by because the mouse move vs in game is semi concious coordination. So a lot have not got the precision required from setup not the players themselves being bad so much.

The Rival is not small at all, you need big hands for it ideally.
I need that one, my little finger and next one fall off the mouse and gets uncomfortable after a while

3200 dpi 6 ingame sens is the way to go.

On deathmatch that'd work great and p90 vs wall hack also.

Stillllll I see people whining about the level cap. It took my girlfriend (a complete beginner) 17 hours total.
I was surprised how hard, 10 hours for me and really its best not to do more then 1 level each week. A normal account got 2000 xp for 1 comp game

It's just a way to sell more Operation coins. Does absolutely nothing to cheaters.
The operation is weird, a lot of the missions give less xp then I'd get playing normal. Its useful for when no weekly bonus is in effect and thats about it
I did see one cheat in casual banned, he was going to rank 3 and was caught in 24hr

Every tutorial I read goes on about having a really low sensitivity.

I've always used what I'd call the middle of the line sensitivity for FPS games but I thought I'd try to lower it for Cs Go.
I found it really awkward and uncomfortable, having to move the mouse from one side of the mat to the other to do a 180 turn wasn't working for me.
I persisted with it for 2-3 weeks and by the end I was getting better but it still didn't feel right so I jumped back up to a higher sens and every thing felt so much better. Accuracy instantly improved, flicks where better, the game just felt better altogether.

Having a higher sens might not be so consistent but if you've got good mouse control you can get over it quickly.

I tried a few different DPI setting and for some reason a higher DPI felt better for me, seemed smother? but I don't know why?
is a DPI of 800 and in game sens of 2 the same as 1600 DPI and in game sens of 1?

at the moment I've got

DPI 1600
windows 3/11
in game 0.66
Gigabyte M6900

I think talk of sensitivities and DPI has some relevance but is extremely overhyped. As long as it's within a reasonable range, you'll adapt to it and tweak it over time. It's going to be different for everyone.

You'll get better at the game sticking with 1 sensitivity or DPI and investing that time in learning the maps, smokes or being able to aim properly.
