CS:GO Discussion

I was wondering if I could get some help with CS:GO. I used to play CS 1.6 many moons ago and had all sorts of custom settings set to make my gaming experience much better.

Sometimes I find during sessions it feels like my bullets don't always have any effect. I remember setting such as cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate from back in the day. Should I be changing these on CS:GO? I tried to change them in game but they didn't work. Do I need to make a cfg file some where? (its been like 10 years since I was playing CS 1.6).

I didn't even realise I killed the whole team till I watched the demo after :p

Oh and the demo was very choppy and animations were a bit buggy so that's why it's like that in the video.

These are set via the server. Most commands don't seem to matter much anymore it seems. I have played with many settings with no real difference.
 
^^ I roughly agree, the original cs you could do all sorts and many things werent locked as most games were just casual anyway but now you could even be fine with default to start anyhow

autoexec.cfg is the file to edit and I believe its loaded every time. Also launch options in steam and any console command can be added here with a + in front.

You could just steal some pro players autoexec if you wanted

CSGO is pretty ok vanilla, I kinda prefer it to 1.6 for this reason. I cant think of any magic code that does that much really.
cl_updaterate "128" on tarik's settings should be 80 for mm servers as they are 64 tick rate. 1.6 varied from 50 tick to 100 ?
Esea is 128 etc
rate 80000
cl_cmdrate "128" should be 80 also

To load workshop in game, Play > offline with bots > workshop


my launch options now *might be wrong but mostly not needed anyhow

Use those settings, everything else is pointless and when you play on 64 tick the server will reduce your settings as needed.
 
Should I be concerned that I haven't got:

cl_interp 0
cl_interp_ratio 1
cl_interpolate 1

In my config file to edit or do I need to add them?

My mates fps keeps going from 300 down to 30 then back up he's getting some crazy stuttering , anyone any ideas ? He says it's doing it on the main windows screen too
 
Thanks for all the tips guys :) I can't play atm as my other half is surfing and it shoots my ping up to 450ms! Stupid 8mbit ADSL :(
 
Really starting to lose the will to do missions, it's constantly against someone who carries their full team and just makes games unenjoyable to play.
 
Got MGE tonight had one game were I pulled off some nice clutch play on train my team were eastern european and actually cooperated for once. Learnt overpass for the 32 round win missons.

Got owned once had 2 Afk so we surrendered. Another game came back from a 13-2 as T to 16-13 got a nice ace too.

On again tomorrow. Want to get come of those 2 man coop missons done
