CS:GO Discussion

Did the update mess with peoples sensitivity?
Got on tonight and it felt like I was playing on 3x the DPI I usually do.
Just never felt right.

feels like a whole new game to me with a good ping.

been solo queuing but getting some good teams. think in the last 5 games ive had 4 30 bombs.

^^ Same here.

Moved to MGE :)

I've just been adding people who i had good games with. Occasionally you come across moaners , but seems to be less these last few days. ( oh crap i hope i have not jinxed it)

I miss 1.6 and CSS. Game felt right, now it feels random.

Hi kunoichia what are you doing here ;)

Deagle feels like sauce now so i'm happy :D

RIP Sauce I miss the dedicated GG servers Arms race is pants. Only finding stupid GG servers these days with completely broken maps.

So finally picked this up but finding the mouse feeling very sluggish, almost laggy. I haven't played CS: Source since about 2008 so honestly don't remember what the game feels like but remember it feeling a lot more responsive than this. Still play DoD: Source to this day and that feels pin sharp compared to this so will try and play with some settings later on tonight when I have time.

Hey Neo I remember you from some Battlefield games way back. If you post your settings up, we can see if anything is off especially. The screen res affects perception of speed I find.
This vid runs through finding your optimum accuracy though that may not initially be the most comfortable, I roughly half dpi from desktop to game

Well that was a bit of a low point. I don't think I'll bother solo match making again, unfortunately I had 2 griefers in my team, abusing voip, shooting me, blocking me in where possible etc etc.

I'm sure it's not that uncommon sadly.

conversely I had a great game earlier when solo queing, 4 good team mates, good comms, great work together and a good 16-11 win:D

Nah it ain't mate. That game you were spectating of mine the other day. At least 2 of my teammates were a couple of *****. They decided to sort themselves out tho and I went 29-13, some how and ended up winning.

But then the other night I had 2 games in a row with griefers. As I have said before and will say again, this community is toxic as hell.

New update seems weird. I feel like my actions are delayed a little so movement is awkward. But after a while it settles. Thought it was my connection the other day which it was due to the weather. But today it was fine but I still feel the movement is like walking in mud a bit.

That said, quickly got used to it. 2 rounds before the end the enemy team vote kicked each other off till the last one... weird. But was fun. Knifed the last guy to win the game haha. Was a great team, just enough comms, no whining when we messed up. All good.

EDIT: Also, check out ChaBoyHDs videos. His Battlefield videos were great but his CS ones are much better. Would link here but the language is far from suitable.

EDIT 2:

Interesting. I'm gonna give this one a go. I tend not to play with nades, I find them clunky I just don't have the skills. Something I need to learn.

anyone else having low FPS?

had 8.1 installed which decided to die on me and required a OS re install so thought I would go to 10 now the new update is out.

since doing so getting 90 fps at ct spawn on dust 2 and stuttering when in a fire fight

clean install with AMD drivers downloaded, tried beta ones and latest ones and still got the issue. never had the problem on 8.1

Bought a new PC and I'm getting very unstable FPS. Specs are:

i5 4960k @ 4.2ghz
GTX 960
8gb memory

Previous PC was an old i7 with a 550 Ti so this should be much better.

I play 1024x748 and generally low settings across the board. I've no idea what causing it but it's dropping from 300fps to 140ish fairly frequently. My old PC felt more stable which is massively annoying!

Any ideas?

At that Resolution you going to be CPU bound, you want to high the res up and push the GPU to do more work you should then have better performance.

I've had a play with settings and I think it's just how the game handles to be fair, I've no real point of reference since only played yesterday for the first time and can barely remember how Source felt. Only similar game I still play is DoD: Source so I think I'm just expecting this to handle a bit too much like that.

This just feels a lot more sluggish that DoD and as someone mentioned above, bit like walking in mud.

If you feel the crosshair movement is sluggish, you have got something wrong in settings. Suggest you check v-sync is off, rawinput is enabled and your sensitivity.

If you find the movement itself slow that's just the game mechanics. It's close to CSS movement speed but not quite, quicker than 1.6 though imo.
