CS:GO Discussion

Yeah, would make the matches a **** show to watch if it was played in its new guise.

I'm feeling so salty about the game now that I have sold all my remaining skins!
Doesn't mean that once its fixed I can't still play of course.
I just don't understand how the game finally started to feel balanced they go and do this. As if the R8 isn't powerful enough they go and nerf the ak/m4s aswell
Makes me wonder what direction the game is going.

Its a bug.

From reddit :

If you leave the game in the middle of the match to switch to desert eagle while you have the revolver equipped you pay 700 and it shows a desert eagle, but you still get a revolver instead.

I made a video for how to recreate this bug, for anyone who needs it for educational purposes ;)

Edit: important! You need to buy the revolver at least one time in game for full price then equip the deagle!

But I've never done any of that. Literally fired up cs for the first time since the update, equipped the r8 and I've only ever paid 700 for it, no switching in the Que or anything. I've been in and out of cs a few times over the day and it's still giving it to me for less, first time I noticed it all the other players in the server were buying it for 700 as well

It looks like the cfg folder has been removed from the game? I just deleted the whole folder from CS:GO directory and the game is running perfectly fine... wtf?

Damage Control
10 DEC 2015 -

On Tuesday we shipped some major gameplay changes in CS:GO including the R8 Revolver, and players have been voicing legitimate concerns over the balance of the weapon as shipped.
While it typically takes more time to generate enough data to drive an update (and gameplay updates are always a bit disruptive), in this case it’s clear that we got the damage wrong and can respond immediately.
So today we’re updating the R8 Revolver to bring its values to be more in line with other weapons: among other changes, its damage has been reduced and it takes slightly longer to fire.
As experience with other new weapons (e.g., CZ75a and M4A1-S) has shown us, it may require several iterations over a longer period to find the stable values that create interesting strategic choices for players. We’re committed to monitoring usage and adjusting the values as required.
Tuesday’s update also included several other changes to gameplay (including a rebalancing for pistols and rifles). It’s still too early to determine their impact but we’re just as committed to monitoring the new meta and ensuring that as CS:GO continues to evolve, it remains fun, skillful, and balanced.

I think that's fair, they got it badly wrong initially but I do genuinely think they introduced the weapon for new strats/variations of play. You can't fault them for that, just their poor implementation of it.

They've still gone the wrong way with the rifles though, just making the game more random and lowering the skill ceiling.

Yea, that's the thing most people seem to be worried about, most of the videos I've watched really like the idea of the revolver and how it plays, once the damage is sorted. But nobody seems to think that the rifle changes are anything but bad, if you want to make tapping more viable then increase the first shot accuracy, don't make spraying more random. :(

That all they need to do. I hate the random first shot accuracy.

Not just you, that's why I spray most of the time as tapping is useless in this game...

Valve is really pee'ing me off, how many times can you change such competitive game? I mean, it takes time to master the game and whilst they're changing the game it doesn't have a positive effect on the Pro's. I would prefer them to improve the game engine first and fix the bugs instead of concentrating so much on the ***** skins and new guns to a certain degree.

This game is making so much profit for Valve, why can't they fix the bugs lots of people are experiencing? I still have FPS drops whilst there're 2-3 smokes on 800x600, it drops from 500-600fps to 120, wtf? :o

Edit Couple days ago 'N0thing' on his stream said the same thing about CSGO, whilst spraying its easier to get a frag as tapping is not as effective, as it was in 1.6.

So, I played a match on my smurf with my new mouse (Logi G100s) and... I've to say its pretty light kitchen scale showed 68g without the cable, I remove the weight inside.

I've been called a hacker in this match so many times, I can't remember... a premade of 4 polish players, joined their TS and we won 16:4. Great communication resulted in some good wallbangs! :D
