CS:GO Discussion

what a joy - solo queuing tonight and a lovely team with all 5 on comms, all speaking good English. Two games in a row with the same 4 other players - two good easy wins. Such a pleasure!!

150 out 167 achievements I got but you def got me beat there. I might switch to demo now though so more (team) wins hopefully

Actually that is in the list but a chopped down version that appeared nowhere else in the game. Dust is never played anymore, it used the be like the only map played at one time I know. Our team beat some ranks 6 above because they had never seen it, its super rare now. If you meant dust2 then no because valve says so and they control the servers, you can still play custom ]

Are you ****** serious? No Dust? Or Dust 2? For Demo?

Those were the pivotal maps for demo! Wow... shocked to hear this :(

It's great when that happens. They should have a squad up button so you can opt to stay with the same guys if you want to rather than do the whole friends list thing.

I've only ever played solo and my only problems have been my own skill and the odd oddity like a cheater or just a poor team.

But for some reason now it's just really bad. People deliberately trolling and that kind of immature sillyness. Might as well let people pick a lower rank if they wish but they have to earn it all back again if they do. Although I don't understand why you would want to derank on purpose. I'm happy playing at whatever. Level the game gives me and I enjoy when a team works together and I enjoy the challenge and variety even if for whatever reason I suck at it more than usual. Sadly the idiots have really out me off this week.

This is killing me, 12 wins in a row now at supreme! Topped the last game with 7 MVP's.

Oh GabeN, why don't you treat me so?

Sounds like my experience of getting out of Silver. Think that was 9/10 wins in a row.

Why do the wrap the rating system with such secrecy? I guess they change things a lot and don't want to post a formula out there as changing it would cause a big ruckuss.

Lots of kids on holiday perhaps could increase the trolls!

well after me saying yesterday that i dont have many bad games i get into a game.

two 2 man queues

they were trolling i swear, shooting each other. buying every round. buying awps and throwing them at the enemys. it was a close game but i managed to carry.

including a final 3 man mp9 with a bot who had no armour vs 3 full health armoured opponents.

we finished the game and a guy from the other team added me. i thought here we go, time for some abuse. he did give me a little as he deranked but then invited me to their lobby of 4. some finnish guys, spoke english and communicated very well. was refreshing compared to the game before.

Also loving the new mouse (G502) and taking some time to set up dpi/sensi etc.

Sticking with 900dpi and 2.0 sensi for now - pretty happy with that, top two in last 5 games.

900dpi and 2 sens is crazy high. CSGO is not about being able to 180 and HS a guy. If they are shooting at you from a better position, you should be dead in 99% of situations. You mainly want to worry about having smooth accurate aiming on targets in a 45 degree arc in front of you. Basically CS is about knowledge so you should be looking the right way at all times.

In regards to ranks, there has been a shift recently so it might be harder to rank up for some, however there is no elo hell in any rank. If you are good enough, you will carry and therefore rank up eventually. Like anything concentrate on the basics and play your game, don't worry about your team.

If this mouse has inbuilt memory, save your settings to the mouse and uninstall any logitech software. You'll see the difference immediately, I've had couple logitech mice now and all felt sluggish with drivers installed even whilst using m_rawinput...

I have a G602 cause I'm too poor to have two mice (yes I know, wireless is sin).

I have it set to 500 polling rate and my DPI switch goes from 450 to 800 I believe. I tend to play around the 450/500/550 ranges depending on what gun I'm using. Slower speeds for burst/spray firing basically, as opposed to tap shooting.

My ingame sens in about 2.

I started at 2.19 and 850 dpi and although I was doing well as I was used to a fast mouse in other games, I quickly became stuck when faced with spraying. I was lucky in many engagements in the lower ranks due to silly enemy players but when ranking up quikly and playing against enemies that moved more I struggled to keep my aim on them at all (as well as controlling the spray pattern).

Lowering my sensitivy made a big difference, although I did sometime creep it back up and forget why I was falling back into bad habits haha.

As JGSR says, position is just as important. You gotta have good team awareness so if you're covered well and your angles are good (especially CT side) then go for slower. If you have a poor team sometimes you need to pop it up a notch if you cant cover yourself well enough. I tend to change about during different phases of a game.

That said I'm still finding my happy place there. I noticed I'm not actually giving my hand much room to move on my pad so moved my keyboard over. Less mouse lifing going on now haha.

helps if I check my dpi!!! lol

600 dpi and sensi 2.0 is what I'm playing at the moment.

I need 900dpi for desktop/windows which is why I have the 2 settings!

But thanks for the information.

I agree everything but your last few words. It's a team game? :p

How can you use that high sens? For desktop use, I usually switch to 800 and in-game 400. But since I'm currently using g100s, its 1000dpi. I never use drivers or any software provided unless the mouse has inbuilt memory, so I set it up and uninstall asap.
