CS:GO Discussion

One more game since my post last night. Loss althougn not a terrible one I played well enough. Down to Nova 1. Wow.

The lack of transparency and official announcement make it rather frustrating. Might just sack it off till my rank is removed then come back when it's all settled and start from there.

The argument on ranks or premise is that your opponents in MM have not changed at all just the badge shown but Im not sure everyone is moving exactly in sync so that'd not be the case then. A lower mm win account will change ranks faster, derank as well then. I swear MG is pretty derpy stuff, not saying Im any better then that but seems a lower skill set to me.

DMG = MG2 - GNM is the estimate from Reddit

This could be the biggest news of the year right at the start, seems hell of a divide to cross over and succeed with at only 18. Will be good to see, still remember Hiko with s1mple on Flipside beating nip so maybe they do very well

I don't know if it's because I don't have many wins overall and I'm still improving after getting the game (I only have 69 competitive wins) but my rank has stayed stable during these changes, I've been playing every day over the Christmas break and I'm still at MG1, the same as I was when the rank changes started.

Was just about to post about face it. Me and my friends have just bought into it.. 128tick servers are decent but so far the best bit is the community seems much better. Playing with random people on the premium servers and they talking calling out strats is worth it alone haaa

Played 2 games today since last playing, had no rank but was supreme before the break. Got LE off of the first game, going 25 for 20, then went 24 for 18. Lost both games because my arms aren't strong enough to carry and now I'm DMG :(

I used to play CS Source until my eyes bled years ago but have never played CS:GO, are there any servers which are (relatively) newbie friendly and hints / tips that anyone can suggest?

Just play casual until you grasp the new mechanics. DM to test the weapons and then finally MM when you think you got it.

Deranked hard after the reshuffle. Now on a massive winning streak but still not ranking up - weird?

Apparently there is an underlying elo system separate to our visible ranks at play, also consistency is thrown into the mix as well. Whether this is true is not i do not know.. It is just hearsay.

Although i was in the same position as you, dropped after one game, minimum 25k fragged for the past 8+ games then managed to re climb.

I was playing against worst players which explains the fragging, and i suppose explains the shuffle as well, worse players are being pushed down the ladder.

I welcome this change! there is such a big skill difference between players within the same visible skill rank.

Ruined the game with this new change to be honest. Played about 10 games since the change and lost 4 ranks so far. Not a single game has had decent players in it either.
No one bothers to make calls, people only use their mics to shout DROP PLS, DRoooooop etc.

Sigh :(

You're never going to have a level playing field with MM.

If you want closer games with people who actually want to win and avoid trolls play faceit or something similar. Also less cheaters.
