CS:GO Discussion

Your posts about such trivial stuff (that really need not be shared, and that everyone will have experienced) truly keep me on the edge of my seat. Riveting.

Who was that guy who used to post essays irrelevant to the post he quoted? Then at the end add one or two videos, once again unrelated.

I still remember his tactic. Buy an UMP on the eco round. It will surprise the enemies :D:D

@silversurfer

14 games ish from supreme to global, in my last 8 I won 4 games but 2 of the loses were to spinbotters the other 2 loses I had 25 kills and 34 kills in, the rest of the wins I had 20+ kills. I'm pretty sure the system takes into account how many kills you get at least.

That being said the only reason I lost global was due to my account going Inactive just before the rank shift thing happened, I was put in supreme after. Prior to the rank changes I had easily had a 15 (probably more like 20-25) win streak in global, but still got placed back in supreme.

The MM changes were pretty major at least, I think I read global is now only 0.05% of players and the massive majority of players are now once again Silver-DMG.

Sorry, please allow me to talk at length about how I once joined a CS game and got accused of hacking by 1 player because of a single headshot. Or perhaps you'd like to hear about that time I had to block a scammer? That one's really interesting and fixating stuff. Ooooh, and then there's that story about how I once joined a mm game but the tenth player didn't turn up and the match got cancelled. Can you IMAGINE that? I mean, wow, it really blew my mind - I just had to tell the world about it. Oh oh oh, did I mention I once had to block someone who looked like a scammer? It enraged me so much it was all I could think of for the next week!

no but please do

lol you feeling ok Cookeh?

Will it make you smile if I tell you I just got my rank back at MG1? and that I got it after dropping 42kills? It appears you get punished massivley if you loose your rank.

Better than ever, finally got paid my PhD stipend so, to coin a phrase, I'm happy as larry.

I had the same. GE -> MG1 after 3months of inactivity. I feel you, bro :D

let me tell a secret recepie to avoid saltiness... Imagine that this CSGO.exe that you turn on is just a virtual reality full of ranges of good and majority of BAD/SALTY/TOXIC/RUSSIAN people. Now imagine that rank makes no difference unless you want to put fnatic in front of your name eventually. Imagine people buying a .jpeg of a knife for a 10x the actual price in real world...

To avoid being angry don't care about the rank don't care about the skins don't care about anything and just have fun.

I'm curious how much everyone has spent on the game.

Check by going to Profile > Badges > How do I earn card drops?

Personally, $129.12 USD. Seem to be among the lowest of my mates, one is just over $1000 oO.

**** sake. What are you doing your PhD on? Also, do you intend to peruse a career in academics (University teaching, research etc.)?

It's an inter-disciplinary project, but I'm primarily based in mech eng. Project itself spans mech eng, chemistry, materials eng and acoustics.

I do indeed intend on a career in academia - I'm already starting to look into research groups for post-docs :)

ive spent around £150 in total.

but i have a cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer and pair of RHA IEMS to show for it as CSGO funded those items.

Market Transactions
Purchase total:£24.05
Sales total:£123.16
Net gain:£99.11
Im very lucky with the case drops at least maybe in general. I got 3 wildfire case in the first week and about 3 more since, hopefully more

Yep kills or just general scoreboard placement, being at the top of a losing game probably does far less harm to progress.

Eagle and above is 10% of active players and half the player base is Nova +/- 1 ranks
Statistically its mostly balanced now, I'd say top nova is a bit easier now overall vs two years ago because new players drop skill levels overall. Happened in previous CS when it released retail

The Terrorist who wouldn't die

5 right clicks! 5!
5 wut, whats his ping. I think you heard the knife your client end but the server never gave the hit. Whats the music on the video?
Also you need to add me, just so I highjack your games and put up some real opposition :D

Opskins is good if your float value is high you can get a decent amount for the skins
I got a candy apple mac10 with 99.9% FN float, trying out your theory :p I see others there for 20x normal market price with similar float, I put it at 5x

I know that this is off topic, so it will be my last post regarding PhD. etc.

Jesus! Well done. Not easy topics at all!! I'm a final year Comp. Sci. degree student and it's a killer. Stopped playing CS/anything else cause I literally have no time (and if I do play I feel very guilty after). Debating whether I should go for my masters after that but I'm not sure I can take the stress yet. PhD. looks like a step too far for me, since I don't want to continue in academia. I'd rather start working in the computing industry etc.

Good luck!! I know it's not easy, but I'm sure it will be worth it at the end.

It's amazing the qualifications you can buy from the internet these days xD

I did an undergrad Masters, took some of the strain off as I only had one set of 'finals' (though I did still have two projects and two lit reviews). I'd always say a Masters (or a year in industry/abroad) is worth it, just because there are so many graduates nowadays you really need something to set yourself apart from the rest.

You'll know if a PhD is right for you or not be assessing how you feel at the end of your degree - if you feel burnt out and like you want a change of environments (/don't want to be independent in studies) then you'll know PhD won't work. Of course, if you can get some industry experience then you'll be able to tell easily which you prefer more.

It's amazing the qualifications you can buy from the internet these days xD

Isn't it? Perhaps you should invest, might help get you off your arse ;)
