CS:GO Discussion

Thanks for the games last night.

What dpi and mouse settings does everyone play on? I'm playing on 1800 dpi, no mouse acceleration and 2.5 in game. I like it most the time but have trouble micro aiming when trying to get head shots.

That is insanely high! Most professional players use between 1.5/3 with 400 DPI.. your sensitivity but with 400 DPI translates to 11.25

I use 800 DPI and 1.2 Sensitivity

I play with 400 dpi with 1.3 in game :)

You really do need to drop that dpi or it will be far too twitchy to aim properly. It's a difficult adjustment at the start but trust me it will improve your game.

As an old but long-lapsed beta-1.3 CS gamer and total noob to CS:GO I've also been struggling with this issue. I started out at 1600dpi and sens over 2 before a mate convinced me I needed to lower it. I have gradually lowered it to 800dpi and 1.6. Although I'm still very green, I can aim much more reliably now.

Sure I still could stand to drop it down some more, but still getting comfortable with the game itself.

I've added you btw, dj. I've yet to play MM after a couple of months of casual/wildfire ops, but will steel myself for it soon. Don't know if most ppl on here are too high rank to group with an unranked?

Thanks I think i'll need to lower it in stages I just tried 400 DPI in Razer Synapse and 1.5 in game and It feels like I would need another table next to my current one to just turn around.

I would just play around with your sensitivity. I play 1600 DPI and 0.8 in game, many class this as high sens and it is quite snappy but that's the way I like it. I play with an IRL friend often and he has his ridiculously low, but he's never able to kill anyone behind him or if they're more than around a 60' angle from his current position, he's not fast enough / has no room. Meanwhile I can look all around me extremely fast, it really helps playing in at the high levels.

I used to play low sens until I started warming up on FFA (free for all) servers, with the low sens I couldn't spin round quick enough/had to recenter my mouse so much so I turned the sens up and haven't looked back, my form hasn't been better!

I'm not a massive fan of the perfect aim video, sure it teaches you how to hold your aim on a static target but beyond that its useless. Like illuz says above being able to flick 180 is more beneficial.

There's no question very high settings will damper your progress but so will very low settings.

I like to be able to do a full 180 turn from one side of my mouse mat to the other.
Obviously this will depend on how big your mat is, mine is around 320mm wide and I use all of it.

I use 400 DPI with 2 in game sens and 6/11 in windows.

You should use 6 or less in windows as any thing above 6 will add mouse acceleration.

As a starting point I'd say put your sens as low as possible to where you are just barely able to do a full 180 flick.

:)

I actually bought a QCK+mouse pad just for this purpose. It's enormous! (At least compared to anything I had previously) It does give me the room to look around though - even if I did have to rearrange my desk completely...

Would be good to play again with you soon Banksy. Love the guys I play with regularly but not everyone takes it as serious as I would like at the moment. All seem to have drifted into overwatch for the time being.

Yeah for sure man, just drop me a message if you see me on.
I just can't get into Overwatch its just such a spam fest! Spose that's what you get though if you give everyone unlimited ammo

Forgive me for my ignorance.

Wouldn't the best solution to all this shady who owns what and what belongs to who streamer, be to just not spend any money on these websites? Or even visit these sites for that matter. Oh and when people are playing on these sites via twitch, to not be taken in and always question the integrity of said streamer?

Why are people letting these get-money-quick 'entertainers' take them for a ride? They may come across as a friend but are they really bothered about their subs?

Take Valkia for example, works at OC, never scams, never does a 'LETS WIN OR LOSE BIG SHOW' and shows genuine interest in his viewers.

Currently DMG with my group of friends who have deranked down to MG2/MGE.
I love playing with them when we have a stack but sometimes, I feel like they are dragging me down.
I want to get to at least LEM whereas they don't really care that much.
I've solo queued for the last few weeks now and can definitely see an improvement in my game.
Anyone else feel like their group of friends are dragging them down?

Promlem is, it is probably the younger more naive viewer that is watching and supporting those types of stream, that is of course a guess though.

That's a bit harsh on your friends Dude (I hope they don't ready this) I mean this in the nicest way possible but if you are playing with friends and you are having a good time then who cares about the rank?
as much as it would be nice little achievement for me personally to finally get to global (currently supreme) I still much prefer playing with my friends that are MGE-LE and enjoy myself.
