CS:GO Discussion

Look in the pending transaction section, it is usually there

i have checked that there are no transactions from steam at all:confused:

i have used 2 different cards now and i cannot verify either of them, and steam support is useless.

why would they add such a stupid feature to the store

Well, had a play on a deathmatch server. Felt like total BS.

Got absolutely raped and 99.9% of my deaths were from head shots, and I would literally be dead as soon as I saw the player, even from medium to long distances. Even when surprising a player with a sniper rifle, I got killed by a head shot.

Spawn, walk around a corner. Die from a head shot. Spawn, walk around a corner. Die from a headshot.

Been a while since I played CS, and it maybe I need to sort a config file out for it or something, but these guys on this server were taking the ****. The longest I survived was about 25 seconds. It didn't matter where I went, or what I did, someone would be there and kill me with a head shot. =/

I mean, they didn't even have to lay down any fire on me. It was literally I saw them and I was dead in an instant (usually from a head shot), even with 100/100.

Maybe I just got a bad server?

haha welcome to CSGO

So how does it work then? Because I have good reactions - and the crouch and shoot thing came back to me very quickly from my 1.6 days (along with short controlled bursts and recoil compensation).

But I walk around a corner and we see each other at the same time but I am dead in less than half a second. I don't even have chance to shoot a lot of the time.

Is it that these guys are hacking, or is there some secret that I am missing?

EDIT - also how do I unlock my FPS? I have used max FPS 300 command, and cl_drawfps 1 but its capped at 120. Do I need to turn off vsync like with most other games or is there some other command?

I walk around a corner

Don't walk or do any of the stealthy stuff you do in matches in DM. :)

Just run around getting frags, practise your spray/recoil management and long range headshotting (1/2 taps AK/M4).

To get best fps results from your monitor try putting -freq 120 in your launch options (or -freq 144 if you have a 144hz monitor).

Think I am just gonna skip DM to be honest. Did far better when I played matches last time I played CS:GO. OK, I wasn't spectacular but I did a lot better than that cluster**** in DM tonight! lol :p

Need to get back into it properly, so I might as well jump straight into what I am likely to play the most. DM will just **** me off far too much, lol.

Common complaint isnt it. I swear people teleport round corners sometimes, I guess its just better ping or something

But I walk around a corner and we see each other at the same time but I am dead in less than half a second.

Turn console on, its under options somwhere
type net_graph 1 in the console

Then you can see your fps and ping and decide if its your setup or not. If everyone has lower ping then you will be at a disadvantage.

I agree CSGO matchmaking is the best part of csgo because the game works best when teams are balanced either side
You can then build your game up, get used to playing. Just getting beaten all the time does truly suck, I started CS with aol dial up, 400 ping

c9 at 21% to beat ldlc is too low I think

rofl I love this, gets ****ed in a deathmatch and cries hacks. Could tell you were dying to dying to complain about hacks in your other post too.

I have played enough FPS games in my time to know that CS has a bad rep for hacking being prolific. It's not like I am even new to CS. I played 1.6 for a couple of years, all be it 10 years ago.

So you are telling me it couldn't be there were hackers? I'm not crying hacks, either, so wind your neck in. I asked if it was likely/possible, particularly when players are getting a seriously high number of headshots and the game as a whole has a bad reputation. Additionally because it was a matchmaking game I have no idea who's server I was in, or even if the anti cheat was active.

I am a competent FPS player and ok at CS, but that server seemed to be a couple of players at the top raping everything. Then everyone would disconnect.

Just seemed odd to me. I don't mind getting my ass kicked. I expect it. Particularly when coming back to a game I have not played in a long time. In all honesty I have never in any game I have ever played been destroyed as badly as I was in that server. Ever. In 15 years of playing online FPS games, even when on 56k. Even when playing against pro comp players and teams.

That's why i asked if I got in a bad server.

Thanks for the info. I will look into it

Fair enough, I'm just really tired of people constantly complaining about hacks in this game. I have near 100 competitive wins and I've never seen a blatant hacker. I'm sure I've had one in my game, but none that I'm 100% sure of.

But deathmatch servers have people or all ranks, I don't see why someone would risk getting banned by hacking on a deathmatch server and there are some really good players who can actually get a high amount of headshots. I'm not saying they weren't hackers, its definitely possible, I just don't find it likely considering you've only just started playing from what I can tell, and I've not seen a single one in 284 hours of this game.

Ok thanks for the info. I thought that most games these days matched skills so a game should be balanced. Like I said I expect to get my ass kicked. But this felt very different. Of course it could be that the overall standards of players has greatly increased since I last played CS:GO in 2012 (ish). Also I was trying to play in a comp match way which, as Azer pointed out, probably part of the reason I was struggling. I find the comments about ping etc interesting too. Didn't realise it could have such an effect on the game balance.

I will get into some of the classic bomb the target, evacuate the hostages play etc. I did ok at that when CS:GO first came out. Still got beat up pretty bad but it was nothing like tonight! Lol :p

It takes 10 matches before it balances your rank out 'perfectly', its a bit random for the first few games. Competitive is probably the best matched games, deathmatch could be anyone. Just keep trying comp for a few more and it should even out

Feel free to add me if you want to play some games spudwave is my main account, and spudles is my alt account, a good few of us have smurf/alt accounts.

Yea like someone else said dm is not ranked so you could simply have been unlucky and got in a server with some very good players. Hacks are not as prolific in my expirence as some make out, but watching the war owls podcast type thing about hacking valve should adopt what titan fall does and it doesn't ban hackers it doesn't even tell them they've been caught it just puts them in a separate queuing system with other hackers so they can still play but only against other hackers.
