Cubeworld - Minecraft style RPG ( INDIE )

Remember though that hosting will use a ton of bandwith, can't remember how much but it was a bit extreme :)

any1 finding this game is maxing out their cpu? I checked cpu-z and its using all 4.5ghz on all cores jumping up and down between 0-9x% load. happy with the temps though, not gone over 50°C. :)

Maxing? Nope.

A good 45-50% usage across all 8 threads though. This is while playing and hosting.

For those wanting to make their servers private. Lock down who can access via your firewall (IP basis) or simply not NAT the server port AT ALL and play over a VPN service like Tunngle or Hamachi. You could try translating a random WAN listen port to 12345 on the LAN side also.

WANIP:22254 > LANIP:12345 for example.

Not heard of this until yesterday, due to the PC Gamer article. Looks nice. Simple graphics yet so rich. Hoping to purchase it when the site allows purchases again.

Played it last night. Melee characters definitely pretty hard to use initially! Currently a level 7 mage!

I get so annoyed with idiots doing DOS/DDOS attacks on companies like this, what's the point. from the authors blog:

The Reason For Server Downtime

Our server is getting attacked by denial-of-service (DoS) attacks on a regular basis. The attacks usually occur in the evening and at night (European time).

Because of that we have to disable user registrations and the shop from time to time, and you will get the message about 'Server Maintenance'.

We will try to find a solution as soon as possible.

Got to level 3 on my mage last night. And went out in the dark with my crappy lamp.

I was crapping myself half the time falling down large drops and running into aggressive npc's.

Fun times indeed. :D

Very much on the fence still.... £13/14 is a bit steep for something I'm not sure about yet, and I doubt I could use multiplayer with the internet state here :(

Seems kinda meh overall. Fun idea, fun at first just not much content inbetween questing (killing bosses) which gets repetitive, which could be excused for being an Alpha however the lack of communication between the developer and alpha purchasers isn't doing the game any favours and as a result unless something changes very soon I see a lot of people turning away from the game.

I'm happy enough to have bought it in its current state, and judging by how popular it's been, the devs should be able to fund a lot more development now.

If they concentrate on the multiplayer and put some decent building mechanics into the game it'll be brill.
