Cubeworld - Minecraft style RPG ( INDIE )

My highlight of the game was my friend standing on the otherside of a tall rock, and me jumping over it on my Majestic Alpaca screaming "Billy!!!!"

Ran out of cash no doubt.

I did buy it in the alpha and did have great fun on it at a LAN, so got my own personal £1 per hour play time out of it, but I was disappointed that it just went silent.

I think now things like Trove are out it's a big case of boat missed.
 
Huge thread revival but this is now coming out officially on Monday I believe. Everyone who bought it before should have a steam key in their account and can start playing now in the closed beta.

I'll probably try and get a bit of time in this weekend just to see how it shaped up, I quite like the idea of some casual questing. From the little I've seen it looks like xp has gone and instead you progress with higher tier loot as you clear through an area. I don't know for sure how it works yet but I think the levels of enemies are set as you cross a boundary into a new area based on your current gear and should remain about the right difficulty level.

Anyone else interested at all? Or should I have left this thread back in ancient history :p
 
its very different now, you follow quests (grey, green, blue, purple, yellow difficulties) collected from NPCs in a regions town which will lead u to special items, boat, glider etc and also weapons and armour from dungeons/ bosses. Equipment only works in an region where its collected unless theres a + sign on it which then means it can be used in the region its found in and those around it.

i completed the first region, have nearly full yellow set of items and no +'s on any of it, which means when i go into the next region i have to start from scratch re collecting the special items and equipment. i dont think ill be bothering though as im not a fan of this kind of progression.
 
Been moaning and griping about the beta on reddit. This new progression system is awful. Xp is way more fun. In fact the alpha was pretty much there but just needed some tweaks added, but he changed it totally with the Beta.

I'm still playing it though :)
