Shop still closed, they've updated the site to allow the demo to be downloaded. Its just a tech demo though, you can't play it.

From what I heard yesterday from someone who has been following this game like crazy, they sold somet like 2000 copies almost instantly and they wanna make sure everyone got them before they re-open the shop.

Seems to be useful for checking the shop, checks once every 30 seconds. Keep it open in a tab and the title will change once it's open.

I love the look of the game btw but no need to rush hehe here's hoping they only improve the game before I get my hands on it

Considering I burned out on Minecraft before it really became feature rich I am thinking of skipping the Alpha, some of the planned features sound great.

It's probably going to be hard to abstain though, looks pretty spiffy. Anyone know if it's cheaper while in Alpha?

Yeah. I bought it an hour ago when the store went up. Had a quick play, I feel like you need to play with friends to enjoy it.
