Cumulative PS3 sales pass cumulative Xbox 360 sales in Europe?

Indeed, For instance, Heavenly sword, RFOM, Ratchet and Clank, Motorstorm.

Someone name a 360 one lol, I find most those games awesome or bad :D

Well Haly and I love to disagree with Eternal Sonata and I'm a lone voice (actually I think there's a couple more on these forums) who really liked Two Worlds. Then there's PD0.... a true minefield (it's awful imo).

This just goes to prove how subjective all this is, RFoM is honest to god one of the best FPS's I've played since Halo 1, I've played through the game 3 times now, and Motorstorm is one of the best off road racers ever made, *off road*, imo.

1. How many shooters have you actually played since Halo 1? Because Resistance isn't even in the top 10 of shooters since then. Its a good game, its just entirely derivative.

2. Its only one of the best off road racers because there are so damn few of them, its still not a great game. Tries to give you an illusion of different routes by making the track wide, the physics are shocking, the elastic band A.I is appalling. The multiplayer (or lack of) is criminal and the car selection screen is the worst designed selection screen I have ever played. The best thing about it is the soundtrack, which is excellent. Its a really good premise though and I hope the sequel is good.

Eternal Sonata is a game I've not played properly. I've watched my brother on it, I've played it for a while, but unfortunately Lost Odyseey was released when I got Enternal Sonata(Some what late yes) And I've never gone back to it.

My problem with RPGs is that everything gets compared to FF7-12.

And nothing has compared for me, The only RPGs outside final fantasy that have kept my interest are Legend of Dragoon (An old PSX game) and Lost Odyssey.

I'm talking JRPG type games here. Mass Effect is awesome, But I'd put that in a different category, as I would KOTOR :p

Star Ocean, So many people rate this, I just got bored. Suikoden, again I got bored.

For me, Eternal sonata isn't that great, But not on it's own merits or..demerits(?) but because it's not close to what Final fantasy is.

I'm not joking but I've probably played nearly every first person shooter that has been released on a console since then, it's my favourite genre, I've far from completed all of them but I've gave a good 90% of them a fair play through, you may say that RFoM is not even in the top 10 of shooters, but for me it's easily in the top 5, and considering it's me thats playing the game then thats all I care about, in my world the game rocks,

Now I'm not saying that universally it's the best shooter for everyone, thats ridiculous, but for me it one of the greats, now if someone is reading this that doesn't agree and thinks that the game is poor, instead of writing back "you are wrong" (or words to that effect) I think they should actually take a step back and think , wait a minute, the game is poor for me, but I can accept that another person may love it, what I hate is when people try to convince everyone that a game is poor/average/great for everyone else based just on their own experiences,

Even when there are obvious faults in a game many people deal with those faults differently, for some it's enough to be put off a game entirely, for others like myself they are quite accepting of certain faults or flaws in certain games, we all feel/experience/react to games differently, I honestly don't believe in all this 'game rankings', 'meta-critic' rubbish seriously, I think it does far more harm than good to the games industry.

Regardless of the above I still love it, the point I'm trying to make is that it's SUBJECTIVE, you may hate the game but I absolutely love it, I can understand from your perspective the game may be mediocre, but at the same time I can understand from another persons perspective that the game can be awesome, I fully respect the fact that you don't rate the games that highly, I've taken your points on board but they don't taint the game/s for me, for you they obviously do, which is fine, I just don't think you have the right to tell me how good a game is when I can decide that for myself. I don't mean to sound harsh I'm just trying to make a point, when I say "you" I don't necessarily mean you personally.

But if you agree with those points, what makes it awesome? A.I sucks, multiplayer doesn't exist, physics suck, tracks are unimaginative. Just interested to know what you think makes it awesome?

I don't have to have played them to know that Ridge Racer 7 is basically Ridge Racer 6; Heavenly Sword was a disappointment and Motorstorm is graphically superb but a little shallow. I read a lot of neutral publications, see a lot of in game videos and have a lot of friends with PS3's who's opinions I rate highly; i.e. Nokkon.

You'll always get exceptions for example I really enjoyed Two Worlds and hated Eternal Sonata but I wouldn't try to objectively argue the former was 'the better' and anyone who hadn't played it wasn't entitled to call it average at best.

you might not have played them but you are spot on

I said "I've taken your points on board", I didn't say I agreed with them, and even if I did agree that doesn't necessarily make the game poor for me.

The A.I sucks : but it doesn't really bother me.

The Multi-Player doesn't exist : it does for me.

The Physics suck : again, doesn't really bother me.

The tracks are unimaginative : They are for me.

You see your proving my point, you are trying to prove to me that the game is poor, but the game is poor for you, not me, don't decide for me, decide for yourself, regardless of the faults I still enjoy the game, I'm not trying to dictate to you that the game is good, all I'm saying is that I think the game is great, for me personally, people find this very hard to accept, I'm sure it's a human behavioural thing, I often find people want everyone else to like/hate what they like/hate, personally I'm not bothered.

You don't have to keep stating this. Im not trying to change your opinion or come to a conclusion of whether the game is great or not as it is obviously subjective. I was just curious as to why you thought the game was awesome.

Then what are you trying to do then ?, you've already stated the following,

Motorstorm is average at best, it only got those reviews because it was a launch title for a starved platform. Its a 7/10 at best, same for Resistance.

Anyway back to Motorstorm, the reason I think it's awesome is because the game is fun, simple as that really, I like the tracks (although I agree there should have been more), I like the physics, I know they are not realistic but when you have all the cars/trucks/bikes etc all huddled together with all the mud flying up and you can see all the suspension bouncing around on all the vechile's around you as your burning down a muddy valley with the awesome sound track it just feels immense, it's all about the emotions I get from it.

For me it's probably not in the top 10 of the last 18 months, certainly not judging by it's appalling single player - though it was very good in Multiplayer.

2. Its only one of the best off road racers because there are so damn few of them, its still not a great game. I couldn't name more than 5 off-road racers ever. What I would say was better is Flatout, I was playing that 2 days ago and it's still manic!

Heavenly Sword is a great great game but then i thought Uncharted was kinda boring.... both opinions at odds with the majority of folk. Guess it proves i really am a freak. :)

Both games do have one thing in common, fantastic cut-scenes that drive the game.
I just thought Heavenly Sword was unimaginative with ridiculous enemies that all followed the same animation patterns at the same times much like arcade games of 15-20 years ago (I was shocked).
I thought Uncharted had some lovely, unpredictable environments (this is a massive change from the majority of games now) with some lovely textures.

I could see why people would and wouldn't like either though.

This is a discussion board, I just wanted to discuss the game. Why on earth would I want to change someones point of view? I wouldn't get anything from it.

<sigh>

Here we go.

It's all very well quoting the following,

Then what are you trying to do then ?

I was just curious as to why you thought the game was awesome.

and then saying

This is a discussion board, I just wanted to discuss the game. Why on earth would I want to change someones point of view? I wouldn't get anything from it.

But thats not how it happened and you know it, you didn't even ask me that until after 4 exchanges of posts, the main reason why I made a rebuttal against your original post was because you didn't come on here to discuss the game at all, is this discussing the game ?

Motorstorm is average at best, it only got those reviews because it was a launch title for a starved platform. Its a 7/10 at best, same for Resistance.

I thought that was wrong, simple as, I don't think anyone can universally decide that, not reviewers, and certainly not anyone on here, I never knew you was this temperamental tbh, quite a surprise, perhaps I should have said what the others suggested in the first place, the 360 wins ? :p.

Motorstorm imo was seriously excellent! Was a hell of a lot of fun, the graphics are amazing, the tracks are wild, loads of different types of vehicles, amazing sound track, immersive. Multiplayer and few more tracks would be all I could ask for.

Shamikebab have you tried playing it for longer?
