cyanogenMod 7.1 is out

Upgraded from the RC of 7 to the final release, now I can't download anything from the Market as I "have insufficient storage available".

I was having all kinds of issues with the nightly builds so to get it sorted I installed 7.1 today and it seems great. Very fast and clean.

I find 7.1 just works. having used it for a few days its lovely and quick and so far not a single issue. Its highly customisable too.

Why do people like Cyanogen so much? To me they seem no different then many of the other roms around

It's the purist AOSP ROM, and other ROM's (like on the sgs2) are pointless modifications of the manufacturers ROM or they steal most of CM7 and just stick crap themes and apps on it.

San Fran right?

can you stick it straight onto this phone or do you need to do this GEN 2 upgrade first?

you can use a converter to convert the kernel to gen1 but i converted mine to gen2, no point keeping it gen1 when every new/updated ROM comes out with gen2 support :) it was dead easy to convert it

Is this the ROM you need if you want to connect a PS3 pad to the GS2? I will be trying it out this weekend.

My SanFran is still running Jellyfish rls9, is there any reason to switch?

Depends on your needs. If you're happy with Jellyfish, then why go through the hassle? On the other hand, CM7 is slicker and quite nice on a Blade. I had it on mine before I gave it to the missus and bought a Galaxy S2 :)

Try this, worked for me :)

I found this somewhere on the internet a while back, don't remember where exactly, but this solves the problem for me... enter this exactly as is into the terminal emulator and you should be able to DL again...
