Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC expansion

Has anyone else found the "secret" vendors/ripperdocs in Dogtown yet? I'm not sure if these are widely known but I've only just discovered them on my 2nd run-through so maybe I've been just a bit blind before.

There is at least 1 "secret" (as in they don't show up on the map at all or only appear after a certain mission) Vendor and 1 ripperdoc that I've found so far. The Vendor is just outside the shut-down restaurant you enter to phone Reed. They appear to just be a normal NPC until to you talk with them when they reveal that they're a drugs dealer, allowing you buy one of the $12,000 "special" enhancement perks (+5 to carry etc). The NPC will also give you a hint of how to get into the restaurant which doesn't involve following the cables up along the bridge.

The Ripperdoc only appears after the side mission where Scavs have taken over the hospital and captured the ripper and the end of the mission is you rescuing the Doc from a Russian lady who is after her brothers body. Once you finish that mission, if you go back across the street to where the priest who gave you the mission is waiting and talk to him he'll say "pop back later and we'll help you out" and, if you return to the hospital (called Haven) a day later it's now back working as a ripperdoc which you can use.

Again, maybe these are already well known which makes me look silly calling the "secret" but, despite putting 25hrs into my first PL run-through, I'd missed them both.

There is also a side-gig where there is a robot in the Stadium market which has had its memory chips scrambled/removed and, if you start the quest to find it's memory chips, you end up running all over the marketplace looking in all the various nooks and crannies before having to make a decision on what to do with the robot once you've collected everything. The only clues the robots gives you are close-up images of where the chips are so if you've explored the market lots you should recognise most the places from details around the edges of the photos but the last one was very hard to find for me.

Finished it tonight.

Overall it wasn't bad. It was over hyped though. Nowhere near as good as they said it was.

I enjoyed it, but nothing that special.

The main story line missions where OK and some evocative.

The side quests where mostly just filler.

Also graphics... I must have done something wrong. Everything turned to 11 at 1440p using frame generation and really didn't think it was that good a RT show case.

Seen better. (Ratchet and Clank)

Also the game has some terrible textures in places.

I'd give it a solid 7/10.

Edit*

Oh and bugs. There are definitely still bugs in the game. One of the side quests I could not do at all because the garage door doesn't open.

Also finished the main quest tonight. The So Mi stuff dragggged on... In the end I was like just die already. Lol. They messed that up. You actually need to really care for a character for what they did to work. Couldn't care less. I think I cared more for Serah in Starfield which says a lot

Reed was good, not great. Overall will give it a 8/10.

I'm waiting for them to at least add DLSS to Starfield before I play it.

Agree with nearly all this to be honest.

So, what game would you say was "special"? Interested?

OK, the story missions are very good. And the different options you can take the story in.

I think I scored it a low 7/10 because I thought the combat is pretty basic. The perk system I didn't understand (just put my perks anywhere).

In fact I finished the DLC with tons of unspent perks points.

And ended up going through the game just using the basic guns I found or picked up from dead enemies.

Also the side quests you do for Hands are pretty generic and the car missions to deliver the cars are also just filler.

I think there was one Hands missions that was good. The one with the truck on the boat and helping deliver medicine to the sick.

Other than that it was just content for content sake.

But the story line yes very good, maybe 8/10 then for the story.

I would not say the DLC story missions are very good. Good yes, very good no.

The bit that is confusing me is not liking the graphics. The graphics are very good for a game of this scale, especially if you have an OLED monitor and have HDR enabled.

Sure graphics are not consistent, as you go from excellent almost breathtaking stuff to stuff that look alright. But I think again this is due to scale of the world.

I gave the DLC a 8 but my score would be higher for the overall game.

I agree the perks system should be better though. I enjoyed the perk system more on launch than I did this time.

I am just doing the last gig from Hands and finishing up a few things and then will move over to Resident Evil 4 DLC.

I did expect my overall experience to be better based on the hype (again) but can't say I am disappointed and got my £25's worth. Plus I intend to do a new playthough when I get my next GPU in a couple of years time. But will only start it once I have no other game to play so I can just take it slow and enjoy the world. Want to play it on a higher difficulty too. Currently continuing on my original save I am mega OP. Only thing I have struggled on a bit was the stealth crap with the robot chasing you which you cannot fight (which was crap for imo).

I think it might be because I went with the RT Overdrive preset and turned frame generation on.

The RT Overdrive preset sets DLSS to auto and frame generation further smudges the IQ.

Those combined might be why I thought the graphic weren't great.

Not sure I want to pay £25 for the expansion yet. Hopefully it’ll be on offer at Christmas and I’ll pick it up then for £15.

Still enjoying Starfield at present so no rush for me anyway.

As somebody who has not played the original, does not have much time to play games would the expansion be a better bet for me? I play 1-2 hours max and have not got the time to put 100s of hours into the base game.

IMO would be a waste because unless you experience the whole story it's not really worth it.

Just the DLC took me about 25hrs to complete doing every mission so, as others have mentioned, unless you have the spare time to really "get" the main game story then the DLC story would be a huge "WTF" for the most part.

If you don't have much time to invest, stick to the main story line missions both for the base game and the DLC.

I'd say finish the base game first then do the DLC.
