Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra performance

https://twitter.com/coreteks/status/1336953604704522242

This is how you can increase the performance on the AMD cards. Just like on the consoles, it will render the frames at a lower res when the scene gets crowded but it will keep the frames consistent.

Last console I bought was the Sega Master System...

I told you it is the same with Godfall. They only unlocked AMD cards because there is too much work to do to optimize the game for another architecture. The same is true for Cyberpunk. There is too much work to be done before they can release an optimized version for AMD.

Nvidia are so far ahead in RT that they don't need it to be optimised. These are hybrid games where Nvidia have 3 dedicated architectures running in parallel to produce the image. AMD have 1 and some on die cache to claw some performance out of it.

Do you guys have any brains? You can read the devs saying that they won't offer AMD RT support at launch but you keep saying that AMD disabled the RT.
Really you are worse than fanboys. :)

"Hi Marcin, what about RT specs for new AMD cards?
Not for the release but we are working together with AMD to introduce this feature as soon as we can."

working with AMD means AMD didn't want RT enabled at the launch of the cards since AMD's performance is so poor.

This is nothing unexpected. The 6800XT has RT performance between a 2070 and 2080.

Cyberpunk is already very demanding so RT on the 6800 cards would be totally unplayable.

Made even worse by the lack of DLSS equivalent.

No doubt CP2077 will need a special RT path for AMD cards enabling only a few of the effects.

I am sure they are...
So how many FPS can you get with RT at 4k native? :)

I'm seeing a lot of reviews with a lot of negativity but i dont feel the ratings really reflect the game as a whole. I mean people are voting 1 star on reviews because they see a tree branch clipping through a wall... It's like Blasphemy! This game is rubbish! Blah blah blah.

Fanboy, really? Look back at how I spoke of Turing's RT performance. @Gregster at one point thought I hated RT and then Nvidia. I don't mind calling a pig a pig, but here you are trying to put lipstick on it. Fanboy?

Now do you really think if AMD could compete with Nvidia's RT that they wouldn't have made sure the most anticipated title, perhaps ever, worked on their 'next gen' cards?

BTW. Both Metro Exodus and Control are running with RT on RDNA2, yet I don't remember seeing a patch for AMD's RDNA2.
My memory is rubbish but proof is in the pudding and RT in CP2077 is amazing. The game is amazing and my expectations were high but it has so far surpassed it. CP2077 is the new Crysis but runs fine on my 2080Ti with pretty much everything dialed up at 3440x1440 max RT and DLSS on performance average of 60 fps works for me. Blown away with how well CDPR have done with this game and I hope AMD get RT enabled sooner rather than later, as it does an amazing job.

Great news Greggo! I said I cannot see how it would run like a dog on the 2080Ti didn't I? Its only going to run better with more optimisations and patches, people need to calm down.

I don't understand the point of RTX for the AMD cards. The RTX 3080 and 3090 are on the ropes at 1440p barely clinging on to the 60+ fps zone and NVIDIA have worked with CDPR for months over the past year fine tuning for Ampere. The 6800XT RT performance is below that of a 3070 which cannot run RTX at 1440p. There is nothing CDPR can do which could make it playable on AMD. Their AMDLSS would also need to go through the same DLSS 1.0 and 2.0 like NVIDIA before it becomes workable.

The game looks absolutely stunning IMO and is a love letter to PC gamers, so the FPS just takes a back seat given how jaw dropping it looks. I think NVIDIA's strategy of beta testing RTX and DLSS with Turning and coming out with the final product in Ampere while somewhat ignoring rasterization has worked out great for them. AMD only focused on rasterization but given how amazing this game looks, I am inclined to agree with NVIDIA's approach

Yup, its very demanding:

The RTX 3060 TI is still hitting 60 fps min. though. You need a decent CPU to play at a constant 60 fps, 7700k won't cut it.

As a 2070 Super owner i'm looking at sub 60 FPS at 1080P, i have a 1440P screen.

Its basically unplayable for me unless is run pleb settings, not really worth it. Why do Nvidia sponsored titles often require the most expensive GPU's to run over 60 FPS?

There was 2 patches before we could play the game and looking at that chart, throw it in the bin (not your card, the chart), as people are getting very good performance and it looks stunning.

Yea, you was correct brother and means I can sit out this gen and just go CPU and mobo this time. Saves me a nice few squid, so the wife will be happy :D

Can't wait to try this tonight, but phsyco RTX or nothing! 4k, HDR, RTX, ULTRA. At least I'll be able to turn the heater off and let the PC do the job :p
