Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra performance

I'm having a lot of issues with getting it to run stable and record gameplay at the same time.
RTX 3080, using the DigitalFoundry recommended settings (RT on Medium).

Xbox Game Capture costs me 5-10fps.
nVIDIA Shadowplay on my 4K+HDR TV is all messed up and flickers like this.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix that HDR ShadowPlay glitch?

I either have to just force myself to play on my non-HDR monitor at my desk, or not record my gameplay at all if I am on the 4K TV. It sucks to have to make a compromise, either way.

Turn HDR off? It doesn't work properly in the game anyway
It looks way worse with HDR off.

I happen to have been able to, somehow, record it successfully after installing Windows updates and restarting my PC. Then subsequently after changing resolution in GFE to 1080p it starts flickering again. Still not sure if it's just software or my GPU!

I've seen that, he wasn't testing it on PC, just two PS5's... but I do also suspect it to be a bit broken on PC. Using his recommendation of "1" in tone mapping makes everything so dark it's unplayable so I use 1.5-2. Not sure it's like-for-like.

I tried fiddling with Cyberpunk 2077 HDR on my 3090/LG C9 (before I saw those videos) and couldn't get it to look right.

Whereas something like Gears 5 looks incredible in HDR.

Only bug I have had recently is when driving through the Japanese part of night city where I see v appear breafly in a t pose above the car. Apart from that all good. With around 40 hours played now and only just starting Act 2, I recon I will get a good 30 more hours of this yet before I complete it as side quests seem to unlock as you play more main missions.

It's your Street Cred that unlocks the quests I believe :)
My street cred level is in the 30s yet character level isn't even at 20 yet

I haven't even gone out of my way to level Street cred so I wonder does it require less to level up?

My 1070 can't even run high stable enough for my liking let alone ultra

I hit 50 Street Cred when my character was still in the 30s on level.

Not all as my Street Cred has been 50 for a few days now. Maybe I won't unlock as many as I think going forward. We will see.
Both really - there's some sidequests that don't unlock until you reach a story flag, but I know for sure Street Cred unlocks as I actually clocked when my street cred went up a level once and it gives you a brief message saying like "3 new gigs available" or something

Yeah. I was in my 20's in levels when I reached it. I did a lot of blue missions. But once I reached 50 I felt what's the point now as it felt a bit repetitive so I started doing gigs. Now I run out of gigs I am doing main story and gigs as they unlock. Once I have done those and compete the game I may do the rest of the blue icons while exploring more.

Agreed, looks way better with HDR on. You get proper light control for one and that makes a huge difference particularly during daytime. I don't think "perfect blacks" are typical for cyberpunk media in general anyway, it's all more grey & foggy.

HDR definitely isn't working properly on my setup - compared to other HDR content mid-tones like he says are washed out, black looks wrong and highlights lack punch. It looks to me like SDR with some gamma fudging.

I've tried a range of different settings and 2 different screens including the Philips 436M6.
