Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra performance

Cyberpunk is untouchable. You are not allowed compare it to anything. Also whatever you think is missing or lacking you will quickly be told it was never promised or supposed to be in this type of game.

You also get a response of "I played the game for X hours and encountered no bugs except for (insert bugs) but they were not game breaking I only had to reload a save (insert number of reloads) to progress the story".

The prime reason for the fanboys salivating over this game is because of the Nvidia sponsorship so they are working overtime trying to push the RT narrative. They have been posting all sorts of RT comparison screenshots where you have to play spot the difference. :p

So are AMD fanboys salivating of Nvidia's RT and sponsorship in this game too? You did not specify which group of 'fanboys' so I would assume both :)

If you had the hardware and played it running you would love it too, but it seems you don't :( Then if dont have the hardware what basis of comparison do you have

I personally think it looks stunning, few bugs that I can live with but gorgeous.

Forgetting all the reflections, I'm surprised how much is changed within the image with RT.

Surprised because they look completely identical?

This really is the "Emperor's new clothes" isn't it?

The game does not make good use of RT unfortunately - mostly just to polish up the cases where traditional techniques fall apart and seems to use a bit of RT as a reference for scattered light to then fill in using traditional techniques - the end result is pretty subtle.

However if you know what to look for there are areas where the difference between RT on and off is quite a bit more noticeable.

Looks terrible in both shots. I have seen some shots where this game can look great and others where it's terrible. Overall though i think RDR 2 still holds my eye for the best PC game where graphics and art work hold up best. I won't be playing this until its finished. My guess is when the next gen console version comes out will be the time to play. Hopefully i have my hands on a 6800xt by then so i can at least try to get somewhere near good settings at 4k.

Here for instance traditional rendering really tries but ultimately can't compete with RT on - even though RT on is way below par for what RT can do:

EDIT: Doesn't help that the best use of RT in the game is from sun emitted light and a lot of the game is best experienced in night settings.

I didn't post these pics as beuty shots, rather to show even in daylight how much RT effects the IQ. I expected RT just to be applied to simple spot effects.

Should have gone to Specsavers. Download them and then flip between.

Why would I ***** about a problem you have?
Also what part of my post got you upset?

I'm sure there is an RDR2 thread you can find somewhere.

The amount of whine over CP2077 is crazy, I just presumed it was the people rather than the game as I've not had any real issues ;)

Unfortunately, it seems some don't like it because of NVidia but the majority have enjoyed their time playing it and yea, loads of bugs for me but nothing that makes me want to stop playing. I have barely played a game in 2020 and spent more time on a golf course or watching TV when not working, so it was nice to start a game and lose a few hours instead of getting low due to being stuck in lockdown.

+1

3rd week in a row, Cyberpunk 2077 remains the top seller on Steam

Has there been any big AAA games released in the last 3 weeks apart from cyberpunk? Seems like a pointless stat that looks better than it should without context.
I read that as @Grim5 saying that if the game was as bad as people claimed then it wouldn’t be the top seller for 3 weeks running. Perhaps I misinterpreted it. However, that’s what the numbers say to me. Not that it is the top seller because it has no competition. If the game really was as terrible as the loudest voices suggest, then the bad press and word of mouth would mean buyers wouldn’t be willing to drop £40 on it.

I don’t think it is worth £40 given how buggy it has been on release (I’m only talking bugs, not the story or rt or any other contested aspect of the game). I also don’t think it is as bad as some of the most vocal members of these threads suggest it is.

Quick edit to add that this is my opinion, it is not a sweeping statement of fact.

But one of the best sellers of all time is The Sims. Another one is Minecraft. So i guess CP gameplay is as interesting as the sims and graphics are as good as in Minecraft. ( or less unless it will sell as much as those two games ).

Its a decent game IMO, but that's so far as it goes.

I have racked up many hours on PC so far, and am playing it whenever I get a moment, but the side missions are mostly fairly shallow. Mostly it's:

1) Rescue this person.
2) Steal this data.
3) Take out this one bad person and do it quietly
4) take out all these criminals

That's about it really. And the driving isn't very fun either.

I've not touched the main story much, but the choices so far haven't been anything ground breaking.

Clearly you are talking about the actual gameplay which is subjective. In fact yoiur entire post could be about a 2D sprite based scroller and nobody would argue with you.

Where I see most people (in this thread) ragging on CP is to do with the so called next gen graphics and the merits of RT. Like it or not this is the latest poster child for RT effects and it will be compared in this fashion. There is evidence to show the non-RT graphics have actually regressed to sub-standard levels of even 2015 games. See my post here and comment objectively please.

Now on a serious note there really is a chance that this game will age like fine wine so the AMD fans should give the game a chance, even if they think there is no reason to buy it right now. I understand Nvidia fans are happy with anything Jensen throws at them and AMD fans are more interested in quality but let's wait a couple of years and you will see this game will be a big success. :D
Really Witcher 3 was a mess too at launch with all the bloatware Nvidia put inside that game. It ran like crap on AMD systems. But it became better once it wasn't a poster child for Nvidia. Maybe the same will happen with CP. I expect the multiplayer to be a huge success in this game, even if the game will still be a buggy mess. And maybe CDPR will fix most of the problems the game has right now. They have a lot of work to do but they've done it before.
There are already some people who played the game on AMD cards and they say it looks good. If some non RT textures or effects are dumbed down, they can be improved in the future, either by devs or through mods.

I played Witcher 3 on release with my amd 290x and it ran fine at 1080p, dunno why some people have to complain about everything
