Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra performance

yeah... as a slideshow :p

Personally i think Cyberpunk shows us that 4K gaming isnt really there yet.

I've tried a few games recently such as Hell Let Loose, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and even an older game like Company of heroes 2, and my new 3080 has at times. been pushed below 60fps by all of them.
I have been 4K gaming since 2014 ;)

I am happy with 30-60fps. I remember playing Crysis maxed out at an average of 21fps on my 8800 GTS so 30+ fps is fine for me, though I do aim for 60 if possible :)

Sadly I do :( Hopefully get most settings up but guessing I will have to sacrifice some settings to appease my gfx whoremongering :D

I cant see it mate. The card was sold as special edition a few months back when it cost sale price of £1200+ it would be horrific if people bought one and the flagship then cant even run the game.

I generally find a minimum FPS of 50 to be good enough for smooth gameplay, some games benefit from higher framerates though...

I'm impressed by the performance boosts from techs like DLSS, although I think it is something of a performance workaround / compromise.

Will be nice to play at 4k + DLSS if I can get an RTX 3070...

Its a shame DLSS isn't available for AMD GPUs also, I hope they can come up with an equivalent tech - That is actually supported by developers

But what about 4k30? Because it's been said FPS is suppose to be KING . And it's cheating for consoles to use checkerboarding/resolution switching to improve framerates.

I thought that was a console peasant thing.

No idea but on the subject of a fixed 4K/30, I’ve just spent an hour playing Miles Morales on the PS5 at 4K/30 and it looks and plays bloody fantastic. I’d imagine you could get away with that in CP quite easily as long as it doesn’t drop below 30FPS.

Looks like CDPR requested that the benchmarks be removed from that Tomshardware article.

Some a** covering going on by the looks of things...

it’s defiantly different in 30fps to 60fps tried to get 4K with ray tracing reflections 30fps but no dice on the 3060ti. Hopefully there will be detailed settings to reduce the reflection resolution like in watchdogs

60fps ideally for me with a controller at 4k. Hopefully my 2080Ti will do that with a few reduced settings.

30fps for me anyway is definately noticeable, id rather lower to 1440p and play at 60fps vs 30fps 4k. Far smoother with a controller.

Why are you banging on about 4k/30?

They said the B-roll footage supplied was 30fps

In the video he said he was playing with all the RT effects and getting between 50-90fps using G-sync with DLSS enabled

My jaw dropped. At 1440p with a 3080 I found the game settings were already maxed, including RT, when I started it up. I only had to swap DLSS from auto(?) to quality and then played for a couple of hours. If you didn't care about RT before, you should care now. Just looks amazing.

Game is stunning. Running at 1440p Ultra RTX Ultra on an RTX 3080. Around 50-70fps with DLSS on quality. I'm sure I could turn some settings down to lock it at 60 fps.

So the game chose settings for me. I have a 6700k with a 2070 Super at 3440x1440p ultrawide. Settings seem to be a mix of high and Ultra and RTX is on and at Ultra too. Performance isn’t amazing, it drops as low as 30FPS at times and I don’t think I’ve seen it go above 55 at any point but it plays smoothly enough, the G-Sync helping out massively no doubt. I’m sure Digital Foundry are working on optimal settings right now.
