*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

20 hours in just been doing side missions and random stuff on the map... just went to lizzies and done the BD tutorial. Will go a bit further to unlock some more parts of the map I think then do some more side stuff.

Very often I would see one NPC for example in a yellow skirt, turn around a few seconds later and she would vanish. I tested this a few times on several NPC's. Whenever you are not looking at them (so they don't render in basically) they despawn, most likely to save on memory resources, it's called frustrum culling.

By raising the value of the "DespawnLastSeenMinTime" parameter up from 20 to 100, I was able to watch one particular NPC wall all the way to the end of street and no have performance impact.

Go to "engine\config\platform\pc\user.ini" (You may have to make the user.ini) and add in:

[Crowd]
DespawnLastSeenMinTime = 100.000000

Wow they really dropped the ball when it comes to key binds and the interface - nothing in the menus for inventory? and just have to guess it is I (which isn't a huge stretch of imagination but still) then randomly you are expected to use R for an action again not in the binding menu and for my setup that is 2/3rds of the way from the keys I'm using... stuff like this is just really amature hour ****. Combat is just incredibly meh as well.

This was very jarring for me too. Have one interact button and stick to it. Randomly chucking R and F prompts on the screen isn't next gen immersion.

Sure is, was exiting a building last night on the main story and enemies just stand around at points shourting and waiting for you. Even when you have shot them up a bit, they don't come and look for you so you can find cover and pick them off.
And how does fairly standard pistol or rifle do so much more damage close up. A bullet is a bullet. It's like they made all weapon a shotgun.

This looks absolutely dreadful in its current state. There must be some embarrassed faces at the Developer offices.

The bugs have really damaged there reputation, be interesting to see how there judged when it comes to the next game they release.

Add to that the base ps4/xbox performance which is just laughable. They should be removed from sale until they can actually get the game in some decent state on them

Thats why I said this in the thread a while ago -

I'm not fussed about the delays. It'll be ready when it's ready. I really cant see CDPR screwing this up and even if it's not the best thing ever, it's not going to be anything like the TLOU2. CDPR wouldnt release a turd.

I think the problem is, that we say that about everything... so and so wouldnt make a bad movie, such and such a company wouldnt release a turd (I'm looking at you Mass Effect Andromeda :D ), the trouble is that nobody, not an actor, singer, novelist, director or game company will always release good stuff. At some point, someone always releases something which is cack. Its really a case of that old saying that you are only as good as your last <insert item>. CDPR have been great and will hopefully continue to be so but they arent perfect or infallible, they may be less likely to release a turd but they are still capable of doing so if the stars align in that way. I've lost track of the number of game companies that I have thought were the most awesome game company going, only for them to do something stupid/release some crap.

Would you happen to know any commands for the Lod distances? Or are they baked in?

I've got a very annoying crash that happens as soon as I load into my save game, instantly. I see and hear the world for 1/4 of a second and then crash to desktop. It happens every time on any save so I can't play the game anymore!

Well the ending was rubbish , just as the game was getting going as well.
Whoever thought doing a rubik's cube over and over again would make a good finale needs sacking
:D

Interesting list but this is pointless.

This is not meant to be GTA5 or RD2. You can compare those two games and other games like it but trying to compare this to them is just wrong imo.

This is a story driven First Person Shoot Em Up. That's it.

I don't believe all gamers in the community hate this game. I'm in a Whatsapp group for Cyberpunk and 4 of us are playing on PC and 1 on PS4 and everyone is enjoying this game and playing it every chance they get around their busy work and family schedule.

So for gamers like us that just want an excellent story, with amazing characters this is fantastic. Plus I love the hacking, Cybernetics, weapons, shooting, Braindance, environments, graphics etc. For me personally I give this game 10/10. Best PC game I've played in years.

Prior to this I completed The Last Of Us 2, Read Dead 2, Mafia 1, Metro Exodus, I'm loving this game just like I loved those, mainly because of the story and characters.

Do you know why this list floats around? It only gets compared to RDR2 because we were promised the most believable open world with never seen before level of depth and some other empty promises like verticality, lots of meaningful choices (of which there's a surprising lack of) and many features that have been completely cut from the game. It's a story-driven shooter now because the devs themselves stopped using "RPG" to describe it. After those promises, it gets released with pre-2000 AI, broken police system and a very shallow level of interaction with the world. That's why it gets compared to something that is miles ahead of it in these regards PLUS still has a pretty solid storyline/characters. Add to that the bugs that might or might not ruin your experience. It's perfectly fine to love the game but let's be realistic a bit. Those comparisons are valid and will be made simply because of the promises regarding the world that have been made.

Also, some people who completed it said the story isn't all that but that I can't judge as after having played at a friend's for a while I decided to wait a couple of months.

Fired off too early and got the game :o. I am right at the start getting an average frame rate of 40-45FPS (1440p) with dips into the mid-30s. This is on a mixture of high/ultra using DF's optimised settings and the RAM usage tip @mrk posted. Seems reasonable for my 3700X/Vega 56 though God knows what the city will be like on the performance.
