*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Nearly finished the game. Have to say the story is epic.
I didn't like it at first, hated Johnny and thought the supporting cast were trash. HOWEVER it picks up a lot mid game and the story shifts quite a lot into you actually caring about a lot of these people. Johnny is a brilliant little side kick to have around and his missions are badass.

I actually like this game a lot.

I never played Witcher games but people talked about how great they are and that CD could never mess up the Cyberpunk launch. Then instantly on release they say ah but the Witcher 3 had at a lot issues at launch too. So very confused.

The game is great just a lot of basic bugs going on that shouldn't be in a game that has been tested.

The latest one I found is if you headshot an NPC in a car and get the police intro tutorial screen the axles of the car and wheels pop up out of the car when the game is paused for that message

TW3 was never as bad as CP2077 on release as it is on the PC.

Regardless, how on earth does it reach to such levels of stupidity. It's a game. Sure every game has issues and can be very annoying but it's still a game. How on earth does one feel so compelled they need to supposedly send out death threats...

Some people really have nothing better to do, just noticed somebody I distinctly remember from TLOU2 thread who hadn't played the game and just relentlessly complained about it and then went to a friends to play it apparently (to legitamise their views I suspect) just cropped up in here with nigh on the same story.

It's a game as you said I honestly can't understand the rabbid nature of people these days. If it hasn't lived up to whatever unreasonably hype you built up in your head then don't buy it or refund and move on.

For me, it's a decent enough game I'm enjoying it, has its bugs and definite faults but am I getting my moneys worth out of it, yep.

I think a good point was made above... the bad NPC behaviour probably is kind of close to what the NPCs were like in the Witcher 3... it's just that having an NPC walk back and forth between 2 spots and doing nothing inbetween looks okay if those two spots are a little villager house and a random spot out in a corn field, or 2 different market stalls across opposite sides of a town square. And so as Geralt walked through an area you still got the sense that things were "alive" even though they really were quite static. But for a big urban city you need to work a bit harder than that to maintain the illusion, as people in a city don't usually stand around or pace back and forth doing nothing to quite the same degree...

As for the police I've been trying to think how they could have done it better **without** implementing some kind of full GTA style police system:

How about instead of having the police spawn on or come to you, there are just designated spots around the map that have a police checkpoint type of thing, as well as perhaps some free-roaming police that travel around. And based on your wanted level they will attack you if they see you. This could have the effect of giving you a nice reason to explore more routes around the city - if you're heavily wanted and don't want a fight you will need to avoid going through the main streets where there certainly will be police checkpoints etc. and instead will need to find a route through the alleys and rooftops or whatever...

The weirdest thing I find, I don't ever remember so many people being as bad as this from 2000 to 2008 for gaming. Sure you had your bad bunch, that was never new but I don't ever remember the toxicity that you can see today. It has become a real cancer in gaming now.

Exactly this, should be a robocop type affair. Some areas there will not be any police and you'd be shot at on sight by the gangs controlling the territory. You could either go full robocop or there should have been a reputation system plus a whole slew of new side missions for each gang depending on who you sided with and who you went to war with.

Mind-boggling, isn't it? I can't even imagine what's going on inside those peoples' heads... Those are still only games FFS.

Nope. I’ve seen police stand idly by while I get shot to **** by enemies. Then turn on me when they get shot by said enemies... wtf
Yeah police are abit bugged for me, i went to help them out in a shooting only for them to thank me then turn around and start shooting me lol... like what?!

Seen my first Npc T pose bug yesterday, i'll be driving around a specific location and all of a sudden a T pose NPC will pop out of my vehicle and stand half in the car and half out. Very weird, it flickers for abit before disappearing...

Im absolutely blown away by this game, warts and all, really dont want to progress further with the story as I dont want it to end so mopping up side missions, getting guns, selling guns just generally messing about living in the world, im amazed by it, my second best game of the year.
