Looks like they are classing the AI issues as "bugs" as well, and are pretty focused on delivering on the patch front

Which idiot asked this?

“Q2: Can I sneak in another question? Among the more than 8 million pre-orders that you have – did you include in this figure people who started downloading the two days before launch, on PC? They weren’t really pre-orders; they were just getting it lined up so that they could play. It’s something that’s treated differently across the industry.

MN: Hi, this is Michał Nowakowski; I can take this one. You ask whether who started pre-downloading the PC version were included in pre-orders? Well, yes, because if they started the pre-download they must have placed the pre-order. That’s the group of people who were able to pre-download the game. So one group includes the other, so to speak. It’s not like anybody could have pre-downloaded the game; that was an option open only to people who had pre-purchased the game on the given storefront.”

BRB - just going to preload Far Cry 6. Haven’t pre ordered it or paid or anything, just getting it lined up to play...
Because that’s a thing.

I vaguely remember some yes, there were hundreds of these dumped into a pastebin. I'll have a look.

Actually, have the paste: https://pastebin.com/mg5Mh3sV You can safely put the entire thing into a user.ini and then fiddle around with what parameters make sense.

This just caught my eye.

[Traffic]
DisableLOD = true

Best to make that false, so LODs show up.
thank you! it's under streaming. I'm still playing around with it but see screenshots below.
one from yesterday when I was moaning and new one today. notice the 2 pipes beside the 3 fans. bugs the hell out of me that random items disappear. The fan detail still deteriorates but don't mind that so much
All I added to the ini so far was
[Streaming]
MinStreamingDistance = 600.000000

it was 1.0
probably going about it wrong I think there is a cap on rendered details, will play with it some more.

The weirdest thing I find, I don't ever remember so many people being as bad as this from 2000 to 2008 for gaming. Sure you had your bad bunch, that was never new but I don't ever remember the toxicity that you can see today. It has become a real cancer in gaming now.

A lot more of the masses involved, lots of young kids grown up in the culture, very little control. The internet is just a window on a section of society. I can remember some very toxic kids at school (70's & 80's), if they'd had anonymous access to the internet they'd have been a nightmare!

I’ve seen cars and NPCs appear and disappear at random (more like a bug than a distance issue) but I haven’t noticed any pop in of world features like that. I’m going to watch for it now.

That made me LOL. I bet he felt like a right tit.

Even if you could "pre-download" without buying. Who would do that lol. "I am going to download the game now, I will wait a few months to actually buy it and unlock it though" haha aha

As much as I'm enjoying this, it only makes me want a new Deus Ex game even more. Despite the obvious difference in scale and scope, DE (Human Revolution in particular), has a world in which you feel more absorbed and a part of; possibly down to a combination of the fact that the AI is better and the distribution of lore / history pertaining to the world and the characters that inhabit it, is more freely accessible.

Does anyone else feel like the game is an empty shell apart from the main missions?

The AI feel lifeless and encountered the same NPC in the area, but there doesn't seemed to be much interaction and some animations look wonky, and don't even get me started on the Police AI you shoot any NPC even stealth and literally they constantly respawn behind you even GTA V has better realism than that (also there are no police chases at all!). Hitting a NPC car they don't seem bothered, also where are the flying cars? you see them in the air albeit briefly but that would be cool "blade runner style" investigating crimes. Nope instead with get cars that drive like busses.

The game has so much potential but it's definitely a half baked game, it seems they concentrated too much on the RTX features than actual game play. I was hoping to spend hours in night city interacting with NPC's or stealthy murders so that police investigate, instead I am rushing through story mission wanting to complete the game as quickly as possible. If i am honest i don't think we will see any exciting features for another year due to the amount of bugs.

Rant Over

Twitter and Facebook (by the nature of how they function) encourage this kind of dog-piling, regardless of which subgroup any particular social media echo chamber belongs to. The problem has gotten worse as the prevalence of social media has risen. In this case it's games, but it also happens for pretty much any kind of media or product that people becomes absurdly invested in or identify with.

Guessing many know this already but the game has a memory leak, played most of the day and performance was getting worse, was getting 60fps in the wide open area, , quick restart framerate was back up to 90fps.
I'm playing fine with 8gb of ram lol, never had a crash yet and sometimes I've had the game booted for hours, it's in the background still right now
5705mb video ram
6327mb memory

I'm not convinced there is a memory leak.

are you using a beta video card driver? maybe it has issues with shader or texture/geometry cache
? did you do the AMD SM cpu thingy? are you using mods? reshade?

Given all of these tweaks that have been found, have CDPR reduced the performance to cater for lesser machines and somehow introduced even more issues in the process?

is it possible for a video card driver to have a leak maybe causing your video card to use too much ram? did you do the AMD SM cpu thingy? are you using mods? reshade?
It doesn't use all of your RAM, or even close to it, but the frame rate definitely plummets and stays low until you reload a save or restart the game. At least that's what happens for me on an i9-9900K with 32GB and an 2080 RTX. It's about the only annoyance I have with how it runs tbh.

The people who work on graphics and implementations of things like RTX aren't the same members of staff who work on things like gameplay and story, they're fundamentally different disciplines. And in a lot of cases with early adoption of proprietary technology, Nvidia will dispatch an engineer to work along side the team to help implement the features with minimal fuss.

I think most of the meat and character of the game is in the missions, there are side things you can do like mop up crime alerts and assaults but they're kinda relying on the AI of the open world NPCs which falls flat. My suggestion would be to stick to missions a lot more and take them slowly, if you're feeling bored by it then put it down until you feel the urge to play and then come back to it and play it only as long as you're not bored. Rushing through the single player is a bit of a waste IMO. I played through the first missions really fast at first and missed out on lots of different choices and branches and didn't really fully understand the plot, which lead me to restart and take it way more slowly and understand what was going on in more detail and it was way more engrossing. Even just act 1 is a complex interplay of competing interests and characters with a surprising number of outcomes for the different factions and NPCs.

Can anyone else confirm? When crafting MaxDoc it uses the grey and green components. You get crafting XP for doing so. Then in the inventory/backpack if you try to break them down, it shows as giving back grey, green and blue components. It also gives you crafting XP when you disasemble them, however it doesn't remove the Maxdocs and it doesn't give components back, it simply gives you the XP only.

Just tried it on both collected Maxdoc and crafted, and same thing. Gives me XP when breaking the, down, but doesn not remove the item or give components.

Can't say I noticed, could be related to a setting in game though like RTX or whatever that I'm not using.

The game is definitely fine with 8gb of ram though so I don't think it's an actual memory leak and my GPU ram always hovers around 5gb @ 1080
maybe some of the settings you use just cause the game to use to much video ram? it's not just textures that get cached, it's geometry, probably shaders etc

ray tracing could just be buggy as hell if your using that
