Can be a great looking game at times.

Though the character shadows are dodgy - almost all seem to be the same basic model.

Performance & Stability
  • Multiple stability improvements, including crash fixes.
Miscellaneous
  • Offscreen explosions make noise now.
PC-specific
  • [AMD SMT] Optimized default core/thread utilization for 4-core and 6-core AMD Ryzen(tm) processors. 8-core, 12-core and 16-core processors remain unchanged and behaving as intended. This change was implemented in cooperation with AMD and based on tests on both sides indicating that performance improvement occurs only on CPUs with 6 cores and less.
  • Fixed an issue with the way Raw Input is collected.
  • Removed the use of AVX instruction set thus fixing crashes occurring at the end of the Prologue on processors not supporting AVX.
  • Removed debug console to prevent functions that could lead to crashes or blocked quests. This doesn't mean we don't want to support the modding community. Stay tuned for more info on that.
  • Ray traced reflections should no longer seem too bright in comparison to the environment.
  • Fixed an issue with Steam Overlay crash on game shutdown.
  • Removed the memory_pool_budgets.csv file. which was not connected with the final version of the game and had no influence on it (it was a leftover file used during the development to estimate memory usage. It had no effect on how much memory was actually allocated). Perceived performance increase after editing the file may have been related to restarting the game.
Console-specific
  • Improved image sharpness with Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain on.
  • Settings should no longer reset to default after several game session restarts.
  • Fixed visual issues occurring during the transition between The Heist and Love Like Fire.
  • Corrected the look of several vehicles.
  • [Xbox] Entering combat while Synaptic Accelerator is active no longer ends in player health bar not being displayed.
  • [Xbox] Game no longer becomes unresponsive when signing out from a profile when the controller disconnection message is visible.
  • Telemetry consent request will appear once more due to an earlier issue with settings reset.
  • Fixed an issue whereby it was possible to fall down the elevator shaft in Megabuilding H8 in Automatic Love.

I don't doubt it's a good game. Definitely will be. Just ain't paying full whack for something that'll be fixed and half price in 6 months. I'm glad you are enjoying it though. And merry Xmas TNA

Got mine on steam for £35 and already had my moneys worth personally. That is just exploring and doing side missions.

I think people who want super polished product should come back next Xmas. Oh and a merry one to you too :)

I’m enjoying it but it’s not pulling me back, only played it once this week. An RPG should grab you and immerse you, which CP isn’t for me. I think there’s a good game in there it just needs a lot of work. Happy to wait a few months before really diving back into it :).
I've put about 30 hours into this since launch and the bugs have been mainly superficial, not total showstoppers. I have had one crash total also. There have been a lot of little glitches and the whole thing screams unpolished in so many ways but the core of the game has been pretty good. It's an enjoyable RPG that I feel has a lot to offer in terms of replay value.

Don't think a couple of months will cut it to be honest (based on your expectations). What will they fix in that time? Just bugs and maybe improve performance a tad? The changes you want if they ever come will be in a year or two imo.

search on google "cyberpunk 1000 npc" and look at the headlines

on gangs

okay not as bad as it sounds but it lead to articles that translated it to

cmon bruh cyberpunk basically gave no mans sky style promises when interviewed.

what are gangs in the game right now?
NPC that stand around and go hostile as soon as they see you.

the only difference between one gang and the next is the name tag and skin, oh and it's location in the game

On your first quote I see it more like a description of the gangs, so that's fine. The second one could be a sign that they've just cut things out - Mafia 2 style. In one text message received after buying a car, the seller said something like: drive carefully so you don't get a fine from the NCPD. So who knows, maybe the initial plan was for them to stop you if you've done illegal stuff.

About the NPCs, they don't just stand around and attack you if you get to close. During missions, the levels are similar to Hitman, which means that they'll become hostile only if you're spotted into forbidden areas and if there are guards at the entrances, they may/will tell you to **** off before entering. In the city, there are also gangs in markets and other stuff which again, will not attack you. For some weird reason, the Police probably will attach you faster! :D
Where there will attack you is in normal gang areas (so to speak), if you get into their personal place. Somewhat expected.

Other than that, they can patrol their areas (just like any other game), during firefights they will use cover, throw grenades, melee attackers may switch to fire arms at some point, they will search you at the last known location and not know magically where you are and probably more.

Is not as bad as some people make it to be. :)

My Internet was down for a while yesterday so i had steam in offline mode.
The game played great and didn't crash once( pc ), played again in the afternoon with the Internet back up and it kept crashing. :D

Does this presume they have mixed the memory leaks? They are obviously aware of them if they say restarting the game may have been down to a game restart

What TV you got?
Well the guy recommends these settings for the OLED. But I tried it on my PG27UQ which has full array local dimming and is a hdr1000 monitor and it was much better.

He says ignore the source image on the HDR setting screen when setting it as that is nowhere near how the game will look just set that as the HDR setting and it should work well.

@Gregster you been purchasing any vehicles?

I am level 30 now. Have access to crafting Legendary gear. Got a Legendary Sniper and Handgun so far. Also literally just purchased what maybe the most expensive car in the game for 225,000 credits :p:D

Loving it! :D:D:D

Yeah. It is a shame as with a few tweaks this could be a 10 out of 10. Right now it is a 9 for me.
Yes bud. I have a couple of bikes and quite a few cars. Most were given to me from missions though. I have a fair chunk of Legendary gear also, which really helps stats.

I see a lot of dislike for the game, which is fair enough but I (or technically my wife) paid £50 for the game and not had a single crash. I have had 2 annoying things happen.... NPC's in the door way and crouched down so I couldn't get past them, no matter what I tried, so had to shoot them and got killed by the cops and hacking a camera, I couldn't get off after and had to quit and restart. The only bugs that caused me to tut :D

If the next PC patch fixes the AMD processor issue, is it worth reverting the .exe file back to stock prior to installing?

Also, if the memory CSV file did nothing in game why is the net full of reports of people doubling their FPS? Back to the possible memory leak issue?

When he said 4000 nits, I knew it was not right.

The problem is that windows\Games doesn't do HDR very well because they don't\can't use HDR metadata.

The 0.9 mid tone is the more important one. The default 2 makes everything look much greyer. I thought it was ok at 1.5 and 1000 nits. 0.9 looked preferable but lost its 'HDR pop' but actually just increasing the nits to the 4000 level made it look right to me. Done too much testing was initially underwhelmed by the HDR but extremely happy now. It looks as it should now imo at least for me. Also he said if you have oled with HGIG then 800 nits is the right setting not 4000.

I've played about 60hrs so far, 100% completed the starting district, the one north of it, and the one east of it, still in act 2 story wise. Bugs have been very minimal, nothing I can seriously say I care about, nothing game breaking. It's been fairly stable in terms of playing for stretches of 6-8 hours with no crashes, only a couple so far in all that time played is pretty reasonable. Most importantly it's just downright fun, I get that there's a few hilarious bugs and people have made montages of that stuff and yeah biglol, but I can't help but feel people have blown this way out of proportion. Especially the fans who have been on the hype train for years.

None of this fundamentally ruins the game, nor does some features being cut for launch. Like a lot of other things in life it's more about managing expectations, people get an idea of something in their head and if the end result isn't that it's like an emotional bomb has gone off. If you curb that response to over react a bit too much and just take an objective look at the game, it's very good. The bugs and crashes and stuff drag it down a bit but it's an easy 9/10 in potential being knocked down to maybe a 7.5. Some people are treating it as if its complete rubbish, which just isn't true at all. I think my biggest benefit was simply ignoring the hype for the game and learning minimal about it on the run up to launch, and going in somewhat blind. You have people complaining there's no tram/metro system and that a few things are cut or missing, but so what? The game is amazing without those things, it's like people are treating CDPR as their best friend who made them a promise and they broke it so now there's tears. Let's get real, they're a business, they have budgets to stick to, someone mismanaged that and it has less features at launch. The fans could at least do CDPR a solid and put aside the promises and just look at objectively what is being offered, and give credit where it's due. We shouldn't treat the upsides of such a colossal effort with hand wavy basic appreciation, but treat every downside like it has a x20 multiplier on it.

This is my opinion based on high end PC experience, quite frankly the game should have never been released on PS4/xbox, they're garbage tier gaming systems by todays standards. And of course if you were in what appears to be a tiny minority of PC gamers who litearlly cannot start the game or ran into a game breaking bug then I feel you, but I think on the PC those are exceptions are very rare. And again I will say, quicksave liberally, being pinged through the air because of janky physics should be a moment of a quick chuckle and then load the game and carry on, it shouldn't be rabid complaining and refunding the game.

Don't think I have got any vehicles via missions yet. Right now I stopped doing the blue baseball bat signed missions where you save someone (there were loads of them) and going full on doing gigs. Most gigs seem to be done. Most are in the center of the map now and are of a higher difficulty.

Agreed. I mean I did expect a better game if I am being honest. But won't let that stop me enjoying what we got. Still better than any other game that has come out in a long time for me personally and it will only keep getting better with expansions. Hopefully the end product in a couple of years ends up being more like what was promised.

I don't think there is a TV\monitor that does 4000 nits.
I can play a 4000 nit blue ray, but it looks odd. The tone mapping is off.
